Clergy are formal leaders within established religions. ''Padre'' Dámaso Verdolagas is a fictional character in the novel '' Noli Me Tángere''. The novel was written by José Rizal, one of the leaders of the Propaganda Movement in the Philippines. ''Noli Me Tángere'' (''Touch Me Not'' or "Social Cancer") is a controversial and anticlerical novel that exposed the abuses committed by the Spanish friars (belonging to the Roman Catholic Church) and the Spanish elite in colonial Philippines during the 19th century. Claude Frollo (Disney Character)
Judge Claude Frollo is a fictional character and the main antagonist of Disney's 34th animated film, ''The Hunchback of Notre Dame'' (1996). He was based on Archdeacon Claude Frollo from Victor Hugo's 1831 novel. Personality Frollo is portrayed in the Disney film as the ruthless, fanatically religious French Minister of Justice. He views the world and everyone in it (except for himself) as corrupt and sinful, and reserves particular hatred for Paris' Romani population, whom he longs to exterminate.
