List Of Bus Routes In The Bronx
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) operates a number of bus routes in the Bronx, New York, United States. Many of them are the direct descendants of streetcar lines (see list of streetcar lines in the Bronx). All local buses are operated by the Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority, except for the Bx23, which is operated by the MTA Bus Company. Eight Metro-North Railroad feeder routes are operated by Consolidated Bus Transit to and from the Riverdale and Spuyten Duyvil stations, under contract with the brand name of Hudson Rail Link. The Q20A and Q20B (collectively referred to as Q20A/B or Q20) and Q44 bus routes constitute the Main Street Line, a public transit line in Queens, New York City, running primarily along Main Street (Queens), Main Street between two major bus-rapid transit, subway hubs in the neighborhoods of Jamaica, Queens, Jamaica and Flushing, Queens, Flushing. The Q20A/B terminates in College Point at the north end of Queens. The Q44 continues north into the borough of the Bronx, terminating in the West Farms, Bronx, West Farms neighborhood near the Bronx Zoo. The Q44 is one of two Queens bus routes to operate between the two boroughs (along with the ). The Q20A/B will be absorbed into the Q20 on June 29, 2025. Express routes operated by MTA Bus Company are assigned multi-borough (BM, BxM, QM) prefixes. MTA New York City Bus operates seven of the express routes in Brooklyn and Queens, which are prefixed with the letter X, as well as all express routes in Staten Island, which are prefixed with the letters SIM. The unidirectional fare, payable with MetroCard or OMNY, a contactless payment system, is $7. Discount fare media is available.
