List Of Airports In Nigeria
This is a list of airports in Nigeria, grouped by type and sorted by location. Nigeria has 32 airports, 26 of which are operated by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), and five of which are functional international airports. It also has a state-owned airport located in Akwa Ibom State. In addition, there are airstrips or airfields scattered around the country, built mainly by the Nigerian Air Force and multinational oil companies. Nigeria has only one private-public partnership airport, operated by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd - Murtala Muhammed Airport Two. Cross River State
Cross River State is a state in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria. Named for the Cross River, the state was formed from the eastern part of the Eastern Region on 27 May 1967. The state has its capital as Calabar and is bordered to the north by Benue State, to the west by Ebonyi State and Abia State, and to the southwest by Akwa Ibom State while its eastern border forms part of the national border with Cameroon. Originally known as the South-Eastern State before being renamed in 1976, Cross River state formerly included the area that is now Akwa Ibom State, which became a distinct state in 1987. Of the 36 states, Cross River is the nineteenth largest in area and 27th most populous with an estimated population of over 3.8 million as of 2016. Kaduna International Airport
Kaduna International Airport is an airport serving Kaduna, the capital of Kaduna State in Nigeria. The airport is around northwest of the city. The airport opened in 1982. Kaduna also has an older airport, Old Kaduna Airport, located in the northern part of the city. The airport was attacked by bandits on March 26, 2022, killing a security guard. Kaduna is the capital city of Kaduna State, and the former political capital of Northern Region, Nigeria, Northern Nigeria. It is located in north-western Nigeria, on the Kaduna River. General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport , also known as Ilorin Airport, is an airport serving Ilorin, the capital city of Kwara State in Nigeria. The Airport is owned and operated by Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and is located about 1.8 kilometers from downtown Ilorin. The airport has one runway, which is 3,100M X 60M, with an approach of 121.2MHz. History Ilorin International Airport serves as a secondary airport to Lagos Airport and is situated approximately an hour's drive from Lokoja, the Kogi State capital. Recently, the terminal building of Ilorin International Airport has gone through renovations to accommodate up to 500 passengers at once.
