Yamaha Corporation
is a Japanese multinational musical instrument and audio equipment manufacturer. It is one of the constituents of Nikkei 225 and is the world's largest musical instrument manufacturing company. The former motorcycle division was established in 1955 as Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd., which started as an affiliated company but has been spun-off as its own independent company. History was established in 1887 as a reed organ manufacturer by Torakusu Yamaha () in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture, and was incorporated on 12 October 1897. Yamaha P-125
The Yamaha P-125 is a portable digital piano introduced in 2018. It replaces its predecessor, the P-115. The P-125 has 24 voices, ranging from grand piano to rock organ, and comes with 71 preset tunes. A built in metronome and recorder help store roughly 100 KB (11,000 notes) for playback or upload via USB. The keys are Yamaha's graded hammer standard (GHS), low keys weighing more than high keys to more accurately mimic the feel of an acoustic piano. The whole piano weighs 11.8 kg (26 pounds). The shell is black or white. The P-125 is very similar to the P-115. They have the same weight, size, polyphony and keyboard action. The P-125 has an improved two-way speaker system, USB Audio input and output, ten more voices and a slightly newer design. Electrostatic Pickup
An electrostatic pickup converts mechanical motion to an electrical signal by means of varying electrical capacitance. This type of pickup, in which the moving plate is a vibrating metal reed, is used in some types of electronic pianos and organs as an inexpensive method of generating tones. Principle of operation The electrostatic pickup consists of a capacitor with one stationary plate and one moving plate. The moving plate is typically a steel or brass reed, anchored at one end and free to vibrate at the other end. Another fixed plate is suspended near the vibrating reed, but is electrically insulated. A high voltage is applied between the stationary and moving plates to produce an electric field. A free reed aerophone is a musical instrument that produces sound as air flows past a vibrating reed in a frame. Air pressure is typically generated by breath or with a bellows. In the Hornbostel–Sachs system, it is number 412.13 (a member of interruptive free aerophones). Free reed instruments are contrasted with non-free or enclosed reed instruments, where the timbre is fully or partially dependent on the shape of the instrument body, Hornbostel–Sachs number: 42 (flute, reed, and brass). The pump organ or reed organ is a type of organ that uses free reed aerophone, free reeds to generate sound, with air passing over vibrating thin metal strips mounted in a frame. Yamaha DGX-620
The Yamaha DGX-620 is the name of a digital piano (also known as the YPG-625). The lettering DGX encompasses the word Digital Grand whereas YPG stands for Yamaha Portable Grand, and the only difference between the names are the markets they are sold in. It was released by Yamaha Corporation in late 2006, the first model of the DGX/YPG series with weighted keys. The DGX-620 is an improved version of the earlier Yamaha DGX-520 keyboard. In June 2008 the Yamaha DGX-630 (aka YPG-635) replaced the DGX-620. The next successor, the Yamaha DGX-640, was released in 2010. In 2013, the DGX-650 Digital Piano was released. This was later replaced by the Yamaha DGX-660 (available in the same colors as the 650).
