The following is a list of every club which has competed in the Women's Super League - the highest level of women's football in England - since its inception in 2011. All statistics here refer to time in the WSL only (excludes Spring Series), with the exception of 'most recent finish' (which refers to all levels of play) and 'last promotion' (which refers to the club's last promotion from a lower tier). For the 'top scorer' and 'most appearances' columns, those in bold still play in the WSL for the club shown. WSL teams playing in the 2025–26 season are indicated in bold, while founding members are shown in ''italics''. If the highest finish is that of the most recent season, then this is also shown in bold. Women's Super League
The Women's Super League (WSL), also known as the Barclays Women's Super League for sponsorship reasons, and formerly the FA WSL, is a professional association football league and the highest level of women's football in England. Currently operated by WSL Football, the league was established in 2010 by the Football Association and features twelve fully professional teams. The league replaced the FA Women's Premier League National Division as the highest level of women's football in England, with eight teams competing in the inaugural 2011 season. In the WSL's first two seasons, there was no relegation from the division. The WSL discarded the winter football season for six years, between 2011 and 2016, playing through the summer instead (from March until October). 2015 FA WSL
The 2015 FA WSL 1 was the fifth season of the FA WSL, the top-level women's Association football, football league of England. The season was played from 25 March to 4 October. Liverpool L.F.C., Liverpool were the defending champions from the 2014 FA WSL. Chelsea L.F.C., Chelsea became the title winners and together with Manchester City W.F.C., Manchester City (who finished as runners-up) qualified for the 2016–17 UEFA Women's Champions League. Loren Dykes
Loren Dykes (born 5 February 1988) is a football coach and player who is the assistant coach for Bristol City and a player for Cardiff City and the Wales women's national football team. Dykes began her playing career as a winger or forward before being converted into a full-back. She won her 100th cap for Wales on 4 April 2019, in a friendly against the Czech Republic, at Rodney Parade in Newport. Early life Dykes attended Cwmtawe Community School and also played for Llanelli Reds. Club career Dykes started with Cardiff City Ladies and featured in the UEFA Women's Cup with the Bluebirds, before signing for Bristol Academy during 2008–09. Natalia Teresa Pablos Sanchón (born 15 October 1985), known simply as Natalia, is a Spanish former footballer who played as a forward. She spent most of her club career at Rayo Vallecano and was a member of the Spain women's national team. Club career Until 2013 she was the captain of Rayo Vallecano women's team, where she played since the club's foundation in 2000. At Rayo, Natalia won three Leagues and one Spanish Cup. Kayleigh Anne Marie Barton ( Green; born 22 March 1988) is a Welsh professional footballer who plays as a forward for Charlton Athletic and the Wales national team.
