''The Ring'' (often called ''The Ring'' magazine or ''Ring'' magazine) is an American boxing magazine that was first published in 1922 as a boxing and wrestling magazine. As the sporting legitimacy of professional wrestling came more into question, ''The Ring'' shifted to becoming exclusively a boxing-oriented publication. ''Ring'' began publishing annual ratings of boxers in 1924. With its November/December 2022 issue, the magazine stopped publication of its regular monthly print issues and will remain a digital publication, offering occasional special interest print issues. Christina Rupprecht (born 23 August 1992) is a German professional boxer who is the undisputed female atomweight champion. She was previously the WBC female mini-flyweight champion from December 2018 until March 2023. As an amateur she won multiple German national titles. Marlen Esparza (born July 29, 1989) is an American professional boxer who is the former WBC, WBO, WBA and Ring female world flyweight champion. As an amateur, in 2012 she became the first American female boxer to qualify for the Olympics, in the first year that women's boxing was an Olympic event, going on to win a bronze medal in the women's flyweight division at the London Olympics. Mizuki Hiruta
is a Japanese professional boxer, who has held the WBO super flyweight title since 1 December 2022. Amateur boxing career Hiruta took up boxing while attending the Okayama Technical High School and continued to train while at the JSDF Physical Training School. Hiruta was able to reach the finals of the 2016 All Japan Women's Championships, competing in the flyweight event, but was defeated by the 2014 World Championships bronze medalist Madoka Wada in the final bout of the tournament. Cherneka Johnson (born 3 March 1995) is a New Zealand Māori professional boxer. Born in New Zealand, she represents Australia in international competition.
