''Sesame Street'' is an American educational television, educational children's television series that combines live-action, sketch comedy, animation, and puppetry. It is produced by Sesame Workshop (known as the Children's Television Workshop until June 2000) and was created by Joan Ganz Cooney and Lloyd Morrisett. The Sesame Street Muppets are a group of puppet characters created by Jim Henson, many for the purpose of appearing on the children's television program ''Sesame Street''. Henson's involvement in ''Sesame Street'' began when he and Joan Ganz Cooney, one of the creators of the show, met in the summer of 1968, at one of the show's five three-day curriculum planning seminars in Boston. Author Christopher Finch reported that director Jon Stone, who had worked with Henson previously, felt that if they could not bring him on board, they should "make do without puppets". Henson was originally reluctant but agreed to join ''Sesame Street'' in support of its social goals. ''Power Rangers'' is an American media franchise created by Haim Saban, Shuki Levy and Shotaro Ishinomori built around a live-action superhero television series, based on the Japanese tokusatsu franchise ''Super Sentai''. A parody is a creative work designed to imitate, comment on, and/or mock its subject by means of satire, satirical or irony, ironic imitation. Monsterpiece Theater
''Monsterpiece Theater'' (later called ''Monsterpiece Theatre'') is a recurring segment on the popular children's television series ''Sesame Street'', a parody of ''Masterpiece Theatre''. Format While using Muppet characters to act out educational principles, primarily Grover and other Muppet monsters, ''Monsterpiece Theater'' is also a parody of the similarly acclaimed PBS show ''Masterpiece Theatre'', now known simply as ''Masterpiece''. Elephant
Elephants are the largest living land animals. Rubber Duckie
"Rubber Duckie" is a song written by Jeff Moss, arranged by Joe Raposo and originally sung by Jim Henson who performed it as the Muppet character Ernie on the television program ''Sesame Street''. The song is named after Ernie's toy, a rubber duck affectionately named Rubber Duckie. The song's debut was on a ''Sesame Street'' episode which aired February 25, 1970. Hide-and-seek
Hide-and-seek (sometimes known as hide-and-go-seek) is a children's game in which at least two players (usually at least three) conceal themselves in a set environment, to be found by one or more seekers. The game is played by one chosen player (designated as being "it") counting to a predetermined number with eyes closed while the other players hide. After reaching this number, the player who is "it" calls "Ready or not, here I come!" or "Coming, ready or not!" and then attempts to locate all concealed players. The game can end in one of several ways. The most common way of ending is the player chosen as "it" locates all players; the player found first is the loser and is chosen to be "it" in the next game.
