Cinema Of Romania
The cinema of Romania is the art of motion-picture making within the nation of Romania or by Romanians, Romanian filmmakers abroad. The history of cinema in Romania dates back to the late 19th century, as early as the history of film itself. With the first set of films screened on May 27, 1896, in the building of L'Indépendance Roumanie newspaper in Bucharest. In the Romanian exhibition, a team of Auguste and Louis Lumière, Lumière brothers' employees screened several films, including the famous ''L'Arrivée d'un train en gare de La Ciotat''. The next year, in 1897, the French cameraman Paul Menu (an employee of the Lumière brothers) shot the first film set in Romania, ''The Royal parade on May 10, 1897''. The first Romanian filmmaker was doctor Gheorghe Marinescu. Alexandru Giugaru (; 23 June 1897 – 15 March 1986) was a Romanian stage and film actor. Early life Born in Huși, Fălciu County (present day Vaslui County), Romania, Giugaru began his stage career in 1916 after graduating from school in Cuza Vodă and studying at the Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in Bucharest Bucharest ( , ; ) is the capital and largest city of Romania. Gheorghe Popescu (actor)
Gheorghe "Gică" Popescu (; born 9 October 1967) is a Romanian former professional football player who played as a defender. He notably played in La Liga, where he was a former captain of FC Barcelona. He played for a string of European clubs in that period, including a four-year stint at PSV Eindhoven and winning the UEFA Cup with Galatasaray. He also played in the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur, in Serie A with Lecce and in the Bundesliga with Hannover 96. In his native country he played for Universitatea Craiova, Steaua București and Dinamo București. In addition to his defensive skills, he was also capable of starting attacks deep from his own half. His tactical knowledge as a defender made him a valuable team member in top European competitions until he reached his late thirties. Ion Finteșteanu
Ion Finteșteanu (; March 18, 1899–October 21, 1984) was a Romanian stage actor, stage and film actor. He was born in Bucharest, the son of George Finteșteanu and Florica Comșa. He was played on the stage of the National Theatre Bucharest and was a professor at the I. L. Caragiale National University of Theatre and Film, I.L. Caragiale Institute of Theatre and Film Arts (IATC). In 1971 he was awarded the Order of the Star of the Romanian Socialist Republic, 3rd class. Finteșteanu died in Bucharest, aged 85, and was buried in the city's Bellu Cemetery.
