The Precursor Legacy
''Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy'' is a 2001 platform video game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 2. ''Jetpack Joyride'' is a side-scrolling endless runner action video game created by Halfbrick Studios. It was released for iOS devices on the App Store on September 1, 2011 and has been ported to other systems. SEGA Sports R&D
, or Sega Sports R&D, was a development division of the Japanese video game company Sega. It was previously known as Smilebit, one of nine semi-autonomous studios which Sega established in 2000. Smilebit was previously known as R&D6 or AM6 which itself was mainly based on Sega PC. Smilebit was known for its sports simulation titles, as well as ''Jet Set Radio.'' When Sega started releasing games for other platforms, Smilebit began developing games for the Xbox, with '' Jet Set Radio Future'', '' Panzer Dragoon Orta'' and ''GunValkyrie''. Smilebit was led by Shun Arai as president and Takayuki Kawagoe as director. Kawagoe became president of Smilebit in 2003. Jet Set Radio
(originally released in North America as ''Jet Grind Radio'') is a 2000 action game developed by Smilebit and published by Sega for the Dreamcast. The player controls a member of a youth gang, the GG's, as they use inline skates to traverse Tokyo, spraying graffiti, challenging rival gangs, and evading authorities. Development was headed by director Masayoshi Kikuchi, with art by Ryuta Ueda. The team drew influence from late 1990s Japanese popular culture such as the rhythm game '' PaRappa the Rapper'', the anti-establishment themes in the film ''Fight Club'', and 1980s American hip hop culture such as graffiti. ''Jet Car Stunts'' is a 2014 video game developed by Grip Games and published by BitComposer Entertainment. It is a remake of the 2009 iOS game of the same name. Development The game was in development for almost a year. It was announced in April 2014 for multiple platforms including Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation platforms. Developers decided not to make a port of the mobile game but instead to produce a proper remake. Grip Games implemented many improvements, including redone graphics, some changes to the car lineup, physics updates, and additional modes. An Xbox One version was released on March 13, 2015.
