Elena Gigli (born 9 July 1985) is a female water polo goalkeeper from Italy, who won the gold medal with the Women's National Team at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. She was the top goalkeeper at the 2012 Olympics, with 56 saves. She also won silver medal in European championship in Belgrado in 2006. Maddie Musselman
Madeline Musselman ( ; born June 16, 1998) is an American water polo player and a 3 time Olympian (Paris, Tokyo and Rio). Maddie was named Woman's water polo MVP after her USA Team won gold in Tokyo at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She was one of the highest leading scorers with 18 goals. It is the fourth time in her career that she has been named the MVP of a major international tournament as she was named the MVP of the FINA World League Super Final in 2019 and again in 2021. She was also named the MVP of the FINA World Championships in 2017 where Team USA won gold; scored 16 goals in six games, including hat trick in 13–6 final-round win over Spain. Aria Fischer (born March 2, 1999) is an American water polo player. She represented the United States at the 2016 Summer Olympics and currently plays water polo at Stanford University. Personal life Fischer's older sister, Makenzie Fischer, is also on the American Women's National Team for Water Polo. Fischer graduated from Laguna Beach High School in 2017 and is currently majoring in Creative Writing at Stanford University. Danielle Woodhouse (born 23 January 1969) is an Australian former water polo player from the gold medal squad of the 2000 Summer Olympics. She is the sister of Bridgette Ireland (Gusterson) who was captain of the 2000 Olympic Team. Along with Liz Weekes, Woodhouse was the goal keeper for the Australian team in 2000. Brenda Villa (born April 18, 1980) is an American accomplished water polo player. She is the most decorated athlete in the world of women’s water polo. Villa was named Female Water Polo Player of the Decade for 2000-2009 by the FINA Aquatics World Magazine. Heather Danielle Petri (born June 13, 1978) is an American water polo player who won the silver medal with the US women's national team at the 2000 Summer Olympics, a bronze medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics, a silver medal in Beijing in 2008 and a gold medal in London 2012. She is one of four female players who competed in water polo at four Olympics and one of two female athletes who won four Olympic medals in water polo. Her position is attacker. Petri began playing water polo on the boys' team in high school, but helped start a girls' water polo program at Miramonte High School and was team captain for two years. In 1997 she was recruited by UC Berkeley coach Maureen O'Toole, and played collegiate water polo from 1997–2001.
