List Of Nigar Awards
The Nigar Awards are divided in three sections, i.e. Urdu, Punjabi language, Punjabi and Pashto, Pushto film awards. For Punjabi language, Punjabi films, the Nigar Awards started from 1970 (in 1967 and 1968, the Nigar Award for Best Punjabi Film was awarded). Since 1979, the award administration also started to give Nigar Awards to television personalities and since 1982, to stage artists. Musarrat Nazir
Musarrat Nazir Khawaja (; born 13 October 1940) is a Pakistani singer and film actress, who acted in many Urdu and Punjabi language, Punjabi films. She is also known as ''The Silver Screen's Sparkling Star'' and is recognized for her role in Cinema of Pakistan during the 1950s and 1960s. Many years later, she also sang solo, mostly wedding and folk songs. Early life Her parents were a middle-class family of Kashmiris, Kashmiri origin from Lahore. Neend
''Neend'' () is a Pakistani drama film directed by Hassan Tariq in his directorial debut and released in 1959. Based on a story and screenplay by Riaz Shahid, the films stars Noor Jehan, Neelo and Aslam Pervaiz with Nighat Sultana, Allauddin and Agha Talish in supporting roles. The music was done by Rashid Attre while Noor Jehan also sang her own songs in the film. ''Neend'' is one of the last films of Noor Jahan, after which she retired from acting. The film was a hit at the box office and was later remade by the director in 1977 as '' Begum Jaan''. BBC Urdu included it in the best selected films of Pakistani cinema. Riaz Shahid
Riaz Shahid (1927 – 1 October 1972) was a Pakistani filmmaker, film writer, and a journalist. Influenced by poet Habib Jalib, who would later become a friend, Shahid frequently engaged with political activists at socialist gatherings in Lahore, and his support for the Pan-Islamic causes of Palestine, Algeria, and Kashmir would be reflected in his filmography. ''Nagin'' is a 1959 Pakistani musical film, directed by Khalil Qaiser and was his first Urdu film as a director. It was produced by Wazir Ali. ''Raaz'' is a 1959 Pakistani suspense thriller film directed by Humayun Mirza. It stars Ejaz Durrani, Musarrat Nazir, Allauddin and Shamim Ara. The film revolves around a police officer who left his job to prove the innocence of his friend who is accused of a murder. At the annual Nigar Awards ceremony, it received two awards, including Best Film of 1959. Plot A passenger gets caught by police with a corpse in the box. The passenger's friend, who is in police tries to free him from this trouble but losses his job due to being biased towards the alleged murder. Noor Jehan
Noor Jehan (21 September 192623 December 2000) was a Pakistani playback singer and actress who worked in both British India and later in Pakistan's cinema of Pakistan, cinema. Raza Mir
Raza Mir (1927 – 15 September 2002) was a Pakistani cinematographer, film producer and director. He was the cinematographer of the Pakistan's first ever film '' Teri Yaad'' (1948). He is best known for ''Lakhon Mein Aik'' (1967), which was based on Hindu-Muslims relations. His work as a cinematographer earned him three Nigar Awards.
