A lot of sequels and sometimes prequels to the old silver screen feature films have been released in many of the Indian languages. A film series is a collection of related films in succession. Their relationship is not fixed, but generally share a common diegetic world. The film series have been listed according to the date on which the first film of the series was released. Notes have been used to indicate relation to other films. ''Only those film series with minimum 2 released films, are listed.'' Sequel
A sequel is a work of literature, film, theatre, television, music, or video game that continues the story of, or expands upon, some earlier work. In the common context of a narrative work of fiction, a sequel portrays events set in the same fictional universe as an earlier work, usually chronologically following the events of that work. In many cases, the sequel continues elements of the original story, often with the same characters and settings. A sequel can lead to a series, in which key elements appear repeatedly. The difference between more than one sequel and a series is somewhat arbitrary. Magno Mainak
''Magno Mainak'' is a 2009 crime thriller based on the novel of the same name by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. It was directed by Swapan Ghosal and produced by New Wave Communications. This is the third Byomkesh Bakshi film adaptation. Subhrajit Dutta played Byomkesh while Rajarshi Mukherjee played Ajit Kumar Banerjee. Piyali Munshi, Rupanjana Mitra, Gargi Roychowdhury and Biplab Chatterjee acted in other roles. Production Director Swapan Ghoshal made two Byomkesh Bakshi TV series before this film. ''Byomkesh Bakshi'' in 2004 aired on DD Bangla. Another is a short-lived series ''Byomkesh'' in 2007, which aired on Tara Muzik. Subhrajit Dutta is an Indian film and theatre actor who appears in Bengali language, Bengali films and television serials. Byomkesh Bakshi is an Indian-Bengali detective character created by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay.
