Dunmore MacHales GAA () is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Dunmore, County Galway, Ireland. The club is a member of Galway GAA. Teams at underage and Senior level play in the Galway League and Championships. Though the McHales are the first team to have won the Galway Senior Championship in 1889 the club has not won the Frank Fox cup in almost four decades, last winning the championship in 1983. Cortoon Shamrocks ( Irish: ) is a Gaelic games club based in County Galway, Ireland. It is a member of the Galway GAA branch of the Gaelic Athletic Association. Galway league and championships and they compete at all levels of Galway football. History Cortoon are one of the oldest clubs in the county, and are unique in that they are the second senior football team in the one parish in Galway. Cortoon is a half parish of Tuam and with Tuam Stars, Cortoon success is hard come by. They achieved Senior status in the early seventies in a team powered by Tommy Joe Gilmore and Mickey Rooney, they reached the semi-final on two occasions, losing to Caltra and Milltown. Claregalway CLG
Claregalway GAA is a Gaelic football club based in Claregalway, County Galway, Ireland. It is a member of the Galway GAA branch of the Gaelic Athletic Association. Underage teams up to U-16's play in the Galway league and championships, while the Minor, Under-21 and Senior teams compete in all further levels. Although not a traditional stronghold of football, the success of the Galway county teams of the 1950s and 1960s stimulated the imagination of footballs locally. Castlegar GAA
Castlegar GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the parish of Castlegar in County Galway, Ireland. The club is almost exclusively concerned with the game of hurling. Overview It is believed that hurling has been played in Castlegar since the 1880s. No records exist regarding hurling in the area prior to that decade, however, local folklore has it that the parish had a hurling team prior to 1880. Most of the matches played by Castlegar in those days were played in Claregalway, Turloughmore and Oranmore. Castlegar is one of the most successful clubs in the Galway Senior Hurling Championship, winning 17 titles between 1936 and 1984.
