The following is a list of characters that first appeared in the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'' in 1991, by order of first appearance. Eibhlin O'Donnell Eibhlin O'Donnell, played by Mary Conlon, is an Irish woman who met and dated Eddie Royle (Michael Melia) in the early 1980s, when her job for the Irish tourist board in Dublin took her to a London office for a six-month stint. Eibhlin was committed to her close-knit Catholic family (especially her widowed father and her marijuana-smoking sister Maureen), so when her work placement ended, she returned to Dublin and her relationship with Eddie ended. Eibhlin visits Eddie in Walford in January 1991. Eibhlin is in her mid-thirties and considering getting married. She wants to start dating Eddie again. When Eddie's current girlfriend, Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), sees how close Eddie and Eibhlin are, she breaks up with Eddie. Adjoa Andoh
Adjoa Aiboom Helen Andoh MBE (; born 14 January 1963) is a British actress. She is best known for her role as Lady Danbury in the Netflix Regency romance series ''Bridgerton'', since 2020. Other roles on television include appearances in two series of ''Doctor Who'' as Francine Jones, 90 episodes of the BBC's long-running medical drama ''Casualty'' and ''EastEnders.'' On stage, she has played lead roles with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre, the Royal Court Theatre, and the Almeida Theatre. Sanjay Kapoor is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', played by Deepak Verma from 9 February 1993 to 24 September 1998. Sanjay is a market trader, and has an eye for the ladies and a weakness for gambling. He is always full of big ideas and get-rich-quick schemes, which never work. Ian Reddington
Ian Reddington (born 25 September 1957) is an English actor with many stage and television credits since the early 1980s. He became widely known for television roles such as the Chief Clown in the ''Doctor Who'' serial '' The Greatest Show in the Galaxy'', Richard Cole in ''EastEnders'' and Vernon Tomlin in ''Coronation Street''. Richard Cole (also known as "Tricky Dicky") is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', played by Ian Reddington between 23 July 1992 and 21 July 1994. Creation and development Producers Leonard Lewis and Helen Greaves took over control of ''EastEnders'' in 1992 and introduced a number of new characters. William Boyde
William Boyde (born March 1950) is a British actor, best known for his work on the British soap opera ''EastEnders'' (1986–1989, 1992, 2017). He was educated at Cheltenham College where he appeared as an extra in the film If...which was filmed at the school. His character James Willmott-Brown became one of the soap's most renowned villains after raping barmaid Kathy Beale ( Gillian Taylforth) in 1988, and then terrorizing her in 1992. James Willmott-Brown
James Willmott-Brown (also credited as Willmott-Brown and Mr Willmott-Brown) is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', played by William Boyde. Mark Fowler
Mark Fowler is a fictional character in the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders''. Mark, an original regular character when the series started in February 1985, became a semi-regular after his original actor David Scarboro was written out of the role in April 1985. Scarboro made brief returns to the role in 1986 and 1987. Scarboro died in April 1988 and subsequently Mark was recast two years later on his return, with former ''Grange Hill'' regular Todd Carty taking on the role.
