Ans Van Den Berg
Ans van den Berg or Anna Carolina van den Berg (1873–1942) was a Dutch painter known for her still-lifes. Biography Berg was born in Amsterdam on 18 February 1873. She attended the Académie Colarossi in Paris. For over 30 years Berg shared a studio in Amsterdam with Jacoba Surie. Berg was a member of the Amsterdamse Joffers. Her portrait was painted by fellow artist Johanna Bauer-Stumpff which is in the collection of the Rijksmuseum. ''Manon'' () is an ''opéra comique'' in five acts by Jules Massenet to a French libretto by Henri Meilhac and Philippe Gille, based on the 1731 novel '' L'histoire du chevalier des Grieux et de Manon Lescaut'' by the Abbé Prévost. It was first performed at the Opéra-Comique in Paris on 19 January 1884, with sets designed by Eugène Carpezat (act 1), Auguste Alfred Rubé and Philippe Chaperon (acts 2 and 3), and Jean-Baptiste Lavastre (act 4). Prior to Massenet's work, Halévy (''Manon Lescaut'', ballet, 1830) and Auber (''Manon Lescaut'', opéra comique, 1856) had used the subject for musical stage works. Massenet also wrote a one-act sequel to ''Manon'', ''Le portrait de Manon'' (1894), involving the Chevalier des Grieux as an older man. Margaretha Cornelia Boellaard (9 February 1795, Utrecht – 5 November 1872, Utrecht) was a Dutch painter, lithographer and art collector. Biography She came from a wealthy noble family. Her father, Johan Diderick, was the Heer (Baron or Lord) of Zuilichem. Frederika Henriëtte Broeksmit
Frederika Henriëtte Broeksmit (1875–1945) was a Dutch artist and peace activist. Biography Broeksmit was born on 14 August 1875 in Rotterdam. She studied at the '' Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten (Rotterdam)'' (Academy of Visual Arts (Rotterdam)), the ''Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten'' (State Academy of Fine Arts), and the ' (National Normal School for Drawing Teachers (Amsterdam)). She was a member of ''De Independents'', and ''Arti et Amicitiae''. Broeksmit exhibited her work at the Brussels International Exhibition of 1910. Broeksmit's work was included in the 1939 exhibition and sale ''Onze Kunst van Heden'' (Our Art of Today) at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Broeksmit was a pacifist. Nelly Bodenheim or Johanna Cornelia Hermana Van Bodenheim (27 May 1874 – 7 January 1951) was a Dutch people, Dutch illustrator known for her silhouettes. Bodenheim trained at the Rijksacademie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam, and then she followed lessons from the painter Jan Veth.Nelly Bodenheim in the RKD Her illustrations (often for children's books) were generally black & white silhouettes but she is also known for color lithography. Saskia Boddeke
Saskia Boddeke (born 1962) is a Dutch multimedia artist and stage, opera and film-director. Her work incorporates multiple projections, computer programming, virtual environments such as Second Life, and inter-connecting animated audio-visual avatars with live actors. Her performances have been shown around the world. Boddeke also creates immersive multimedia installations where the visitors are surrounded by projections, sounds, light, smells and art objects. In 2015 Saskia was awarded the Russian TANR award for her exhibition in Moscow: "The Black Square, The Golden Age of the Russian Avantgarde", a multimedia installation. Catharina Seaton Foreman Bisschop-Swift, known as Kate (1834-1928) was an English-born Dutch painter, known primarily for her domestic scenes and still-lifes. Biography She was largely self-taught. In the late 1860s, she took some lessons from the Dutch painter, Christoffel Bisschop. They were married in January 1869, and she went with him to the Netherlands. They lived in Scheveningen at a villa named "Frisia", although she worked mostly in Leeuwarden. In 1874, together with Gerardina Jacoba van de Sande Bakhuyzen, Sientje van Houten and Margaretha Roosenboom, she painted the "Haagse weeskinderen" (Hague Orphans), as a gift for Queen Sophie on the occasion of the 25th jubilee of Sophie's husband, King William III. Maria Philippina (Marie) Bilders-van Bosse (Amsterdam, 21 February 1837 – Wiesbaden, 11 July 1900) was a painter, famous for her landscape paintings in an early Dutch-impressionist style. Biography Marie van Bosse was a daughter of Pieter Philip van Bosse (1809–1879) and Maria Johanna Reynvaan (1809–1864). Her father was a lawyer and Minister of Finance in The Netherlands for more than twenty years. Because of his work at the ministry, the family moved to The Hague. Marie van Bosse was a niece of the artist Sara Stracké-van Bosse. At age eighteen Marie van Bosse decided that she wanted to become a painter – a rather unusual decision for a woman of that time.
