Seven Network
The Seven Network (commonly known as Channel Seven or simply Seven) is a major Australian commercial free-to-air television network. It is owned by Seven West Media Limited, and is one of five main free-to-air television networks in Australia. The network's headquarters are located in Sydney. As of 2014, it is the second-largest network in the country in terms of population reach. The Seven Network shows various nonfiction shows—such as news broadcasts ('' Seven News'') and sports programing—as well as fiction shows. In 2011, the network won all 40 out of 40 weeks of the ratings season for total viewers, being the first to achieve this since the introduction of the OzTAM ratings system in 2001. As of 2022, the Seven Network is the highest-rated television network in Australia, ahead of the Nine Network, ABC TV, Network 10 and SBS. Andrew Maher
Andrew Maher is an Australian sports journalist and broadcaster for the Seven Network and Melbourne sport radio station 1116 SEN. He is best known for covering both Australian rules football and the Big Bash League for the Ten television network, as well as hosting AFL review program '' Before the Game''. Maher was a boundary rider for the 2004, 2007, 2009 and 2011 AFL grand finals for Network Ten. Maher hosted The Fifth Quarter (post-match show, following Saturday Night AFL games from 2004 to 2007 (with Michael Christian), and 2009 and 2011 with rotating expert commentators Malcolm Blight, Matthew Lloyd and Luke Darcy. Michael Christian
Michael Christian (born 21 August 1964) is a former Australian rules footballer and media personality from Busselton, Western Australia who played for East Perth in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and Collingwood in the Victorian Football League/ Australian Football League (VFL/AFL). Christian played 82 games for East Perth in the WAFL from 1981 to 1986 and then crossed to Collingwood to play out his football career. He played at centre half-back for the majority of his career, but was also used sparingly as a forward. Christian was a member of Collingwood's 1990 premiership side and represented the West Australian team on three occasions. After retiring, Christian became a football commentator and has commentated on radio for Triple M, Geelong station K-Rock (3GL) and 3AW, as well as for Network Ten. One (Australian TV Channel)
10 Bold is an Australian free-to-air digital television multichannel owned by Network 10. It originally launched on 26 March 2009 as One HD with a focus on broadcasting sports-based programming and events, but rebranded to One in April 2011 to more reality, scripted and adventure-based programming aimed at males between the ages of 25 to 54. As of October 2018, the channel now primarily broadcasts dramatic programming aimed towards viewers 40 and older. Due to the relaunch of 10 HD on 2 March 2016, it was reduced to a standard-definition broadcast for 5 years until 23 September 2021 at 6am when it switched to HD. Mike Sheahan
Michael Sheahan (born 4 March 1947) is an Australian journalist who specialises in Australian rules football. He was chief football writer and associate sports editor for the ''Herald Sun'' for 18 years. Although he left these positions at the end of 2011, he still writes special columns for the newspaper, including his yearly "Top 50" player list. He was also a panelist on the Fox Footy program '' On the Couch'' and former media director for the Australian Football League (AFL, formerly VFL). He also joins Brian Taylor, Matthew Richardson, Matthew Lloyd and Leigh Matthews in the 3AW radio station's pre-match football discussion on Saturday afternoons. Paul Roos (footballer)
Paul Roos (born 27 June 1963) is a former Australian rules football coach who coached the Sydney Swans and Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). As a player, he represented and during the 1980s and 1990s. A versatile key position player, Roos was a strong mark who was excellent at ground level, and in his prime was rated the best footballer in Australia. He was one of the Fitzroy Lions' finest players in its final years, and was named at centre half back in Fitzroy's Team of the Century. In his 17 seasons of League football, he was only reported once, for abusive language, and was found not guilty. Roos was inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame in 2005. He has won many accolades throughout his career: he was named All-Australian seven times; received the league's most valuable player (MVP) award; and represented Victoria on 14 occasions in State of Origin. Peter Landy
Peter Landy (born 1943) is an Australian television presenter. Career Beginning his career in the early 1960s—after attending the Jesuit Xavier College—he started with Radio 3UL, Warragul, co-ordinating horse racing and football broadcasts. He later moved to 3UZ Melbourne, where he reported and presented the news. In 1967, he moved to 3AK and also began with TV station Channel 9. In 1971, he moved to Seven Network Melbourne sport reporting. He commentated Australian rules football ( VFL) games, tennis, boxing, and several Olympic Games, including rowing events. His personal sporting achievements were in rowing and tennis. In the 1990s, Landy returned to commentary with the Seven Network, hosting football in the late 1990s. He was also a newsreader. Christi Malthouse
Christi Malthouse (born 1976) is an Australian journalist. Career Malthouse was a journalist for Network Ten and is the daughter of Mick Malthouse, former Australian rules football player and the former coach of the Western Bulldogs, West Coast Eagles, Collingwood and Carlton Football Clubs in the AFL. In addition to her boundary-riding role for Ten's Australian Football League coverage, Christi has also been a sports presenter for '' Ten News'' and appeared on shows such as '' 9am with David and Kim'' as a health and fitness reporter, and ''Before The Game''. Anthony Hudson (commentator)
Anthony 'Huddo' Hudson (born 10 April 1971) is an Australian sports commentator in television and radio. He mainly commentates Australian rules football. He also writes for News Corp newspapers. Hudson has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism which he earned in 1993 at RMIT University. Hudson became well known during the 1990s as a commentator for 3AW Football and subsequently the Seven Network and then Network Ten where he cemented his name. Hudson called the 2000 (Seven Network), 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007 & 2011 AFL Grand Finals for Network Ten. Eloise Southby-Halbish
Eloise Southby-Halbish (born 6 July 1976) is an Australian sports commentator and former netball player. She was co-captain of the Melbourne Phoenix with fellow goaler, Sharelle McMahon, and also played for the Australia national netball team. Netball career Southby-Halbish appeared in 132 Commonwealth Bank Trophy matches for the Phoenix and represented Australia in 34 Tests in the positions goal shooter and goal attack. Identified early in her career as a highly talented shooting prospect, Southby-Halbish made her international debut in early 1998, at the age of 21. Southby-Halbish's arrival on the international scene coincided with a period where Australia was rich in shooting talent - with the likes of Vicki Wilson, Nicole Cusack, and Jennifer Borlase all laying claim to the main shooting positions. Damian Callinan
Damian Callinan is an actor/comedian from Melbourne, Australia. Entertainment career Callinan has performed in many mediums, including TV, film, radio and live stand-up. He came to national prominence in 2003 as an actor in the Australian sketch comedy television series ''skitHOUSE'' as well as making regular appearances on ''Before the Game''.
