The 2017 Women's March was a network of global political rally, political rallies that took place in cities around the world on January 21, 2017. These "sister marches" were both formally and organically related to the popularized 2017 Women's March, all of which happened in concert. The date of this global protest is particularly significant because it was the first day of Donald Trump, President Donald J. Trump's term. 2017 Women's March
The Women's March was an American protest on January 21, 2017, the day after the first inauguration of Donald Trump as the president of the United States. It was prompted by Trump's policy positions and rhetoric, which were and are seen as misogynistic and representative as a threat to the rights of women. It was at the time the largest single-day protest in U.S. history, being surpassed 3 years later by the George Floyd protests. The goal of the annual marches is to advocate legislation and policies regarding human rights and other issues, including women's rights, immigration reform, healthcare reform, disability justice, reproductive rights, the environment, LGBTQ rights, racial equality, freedom of religion, workers' rights and tolerance. According to organizers, the goal was to "send a bold message to our new administration on their first day in office, and to the world that women's rights are human rights". The Delaney Park Strip is an 11-City block, block park in the Consolidated city-county, Municipality of Anchorage, Alaska. Originally a firebreak, the Park Strip would become Anchorage's first airfield. History Known to the Anchorage community as the Park Strip, Delaney Park is the oldest park in the city. It was established as part of the original Anchorage township plat in 1917 and named for James Delaney (mayor), James Delaney, one of the first mayors of Anchorage. The park was originally used simply as a firebreak, but in 1923 it became “The Golf Course.” The community used the space both for a golf course and an airstrip. Mentone is a town in DeKalb County, Alabama, United States. Its location is atop Lookout Mountain. A number of private summer camps are located near Mentone. For a number of years, Mentone has hosted an unusually large number of summer camps. Mentone attracts many visitors and tourists annually, partly due to the summer camps. History The community was named after Menton in France and was incorporated in 1935. In April 2003, it was the town nearest the epicenter of a magnitude 4.6 earthquake. WZDX (channel 54) is a television station in Huntsville, Alabama, United States, affiliated with Fox and MyNetworkTV. Owned by Tegna Inc., the station maintains studios on North Memorial Parkway ( US 72/ 231/ 431) in Huntsville, and its transmitter is located on Monte Sano Mountain.
