Line 2 is a north-south line of the Suzhou Metro Suzhou Metro, previously called Suzhou Rail Transit, is a rapid transit system serving the city of Suzhou, in Jiangsu Province, China. History The line was opened in two phases, with the long first phase from to () near Baodai Bridge started operations on December 28, 2013. This section consisted of of elevated track and of underground track. The second phase, running from to in the north, and from () to () in the east, commenced trial operations on September 24, 2016. Precious Belt Bridge
The Precious Belt Bridge, also known by other names, is a stone arch bridge near Suzhou in Jiangsu, China. It is located at the intersection of the Grand Canal and Tantai Lake about southeast of central Suzhou. Names The names Precious Belt Bridge and Bridge of the Bejeweled Belt are calques of the bridge's Chinese name, written in traditional characters and in simplified ones. It is also sometimes known as the Baodai Bridge from the pinyin romanization of the Mandarin pronunciation of the Chinese name. The name references the story that Wang Zhongshu, the prefect of Suzhou, funded its construction with his own lavishly decorated belt rather than through forced labor or additional taxation. Suzhou Industrial Park
The Suzhou Industrial Park () is a development region in Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. The industrial park was established in February 1994, as part of the Chinese economic reform, reform and opening up campaign in the 1990s, and is unique in its joint governance by Chinese and Singapore, Singaporean officials. While the park struggled at first, and attracted international notoriety following a very publicized falling out between the two sides, it quickly began making a profit due to highly desirable real estate and the presence of many large global corporations, and remains an economic engine for the city. Suzhou is a major prefecture-level city in southern Jiangsu province, China. As part of the Yangtze Delta megalopolis, it is a major economic center and focal point of trade and commerce.
