Limuru
Limuru is a town in central Kenya. It serves as both a parliamentary constituency and an administrative division. As of 2004, the town's population was approximately 4,800, which significantly increased to 159,314 by the 2019 census. Kiambu County
Kiambu County is a county in the former Central Province of Kenya. Its capital is Kiambu and its largest town is Thika town. Kiambu County is the second most populous county in Kenya after Nairobi County. Kiambu County borders Nairobi and Kajiado Counties to the South, Machakos to the East, Murang'a to the North and North East, Nyandarua to the North West, and Nakuru to the West. Kiambu District
Kiambu District was an administrative district in the Central Province of Kenya. Its capital town was Kiambu. The district was adjacent to the northern border of Nairobi and had a population of 744,010. Created during the colonial era, it underwent changes, absorbing part of Thika District, losing some of its regions to Nairobi such as Dagoretti while gaining some including Ruiru. By the 1970s, Thika District had been completely absorbed by its neighbouring districts, and Kiambu District was identical to the present-day Kiambu County. After 1992, Thika District was re-established from southwestern regions of Kiambu. In 2009, Thika District was declared unlawfully created and was reabsorbed to Kiambu yet again. In 2013, Kiambu County was effected on the same boundaries as the district absorbing it in the process. Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o (; born James Ngugi; 5January 193828May 2025) was a Kenyan author and academic, who has been described as East Africa's leading novelist and an important figure in modern African literature. Caesar Gatimu
The Right Reverend Caesar Gatimu (18 May 1921 – 20 February 1987) was a Roman Catholic prelate in Kenya, who served as Bishop of the Diocese of Nyeri from 1964 until his retirement in 1987. He previously served as Auxiliary Bishop of Nyeri from 1961 until 1964. He was appointed bishop on 18 April 1961 by Pope John XXIII. He died on 20 February 1987 at the age of 65 years, as Bishop of Nyeri. Early life and education He was born on 18 May 1921 at Limuru, Kiambu County, Kenya. Great Rift Valley, Kenya
The Great Rift Valley is part of an intra-continental ridge system that runs through Kenya from north to south. It is part of the Gregory Rift, the eastern branch of the East African Rift, which starts in Tanzania to the south and continues northward into Ethiopia. It was formed on the "Kenyan Dome", a geographical upwelling created by the interactions of three major tectonics: the Arabian, Nubian, and Somalian plates. In the past, it was seen as part of a " Great Rift Valley" that runs from Madagascar to Syria. Most of the valley falls within the former Rift Valley Province.
