Light Plot
A light plot, lighting plot or just plot is a document like an architectural blueprint used specifically by theatrical lighting designers to illustrate and communicate the lighting design to the director, other designers and finally the Master Electrician and electrics crew. The light plot specifies how each lighting instrument should be hung, focused, colored, and connected. Typically the light plot is supplemented by other paperwork such as the channel hookup or instrument schedule. Up until the development of computer aided drafting (CAD) programs, light plots were hand drawn or drafted on special drafting paper. Though CAD programs and hand drafting require different techniques and methods, the information is presented and used in the same way. Blueprint
A blueprint is a reproduction of a technical drawing or engineering drawing using a contact print process on light-sensitive sheets introduced by Sir John Herschel in 1842. The process allowed rapid and accurate production of an unlimited number of copies. It was widely used for over a century for the reproduction of specification drawings used in Architectural drawing#Working drawings, construction and industry. Blueprints were characterized by white lines on a blue background, a Negative (photography), negative of the original. Color or shades of grey could not be reproduced. The process is obsolete, initially superseded by the whiteprint#The_diazo_printing_process, diazo-based ''whiteprint'' process, and later by large-format xerography, xerographic photocopiers. Followspot
A spotlight (or followspot) is a powerful stage lighting instrument which projects a bright beam of light onto a performance space. Spotlights are controlled by a spotlight operator who tracks actors around the stage. Spotlights are most commonly used in concerts, musicals and large-scale presentations in which highlighting a specific mobile individual is critical. Spotlights are sometimes located overhead on catwalks. In some theatres, they may also be located in the control booth or purpose-built "spot booths" in addition to the catwalk. Spotlights may be arranged in a variety of patterns for coverage. For example, they can be located to the back or rear of a theater and aimed at the stage in front of them. Gobo (lighting)
A gobo is an object placed inside or in front of a light source to control the shape of the emitted light and its shadow.Kelby, Scott (2006). Color Gel
A color gel or color filter ( Commonwealth spelling: colour gel or colour filter), also known as lighting gel or simply gel, is a transparent colored material that is used in theater, event production, photography, videography and cinematography to color light and for color correction. Modern gels are thin sheets of polycarbonate, polyester or other heat-resistant plastics, placed in front of a lighting fixture in the path of the beam. Gels have a limited life, especially in saturated colors (lower light transmission) and shorter wavelength (blues). The color will fade or even melt, depending upon the energy absorption of the color, and the sheet will have to be replaced. There are different types of theatres, but they all have three major parts in common. Set Construction

Catwalk (theater)
In Theater (structure), theater, catwalk is an elevated service platform close to the ceiling from which lighting and other technical equipment may be manipulated. Function Catwalks are used to suspend lighting instruments and microphones directed at the Stage (theatre), stage. The catwalks provide easy access for theater personnel to perform common tasks.
