Liga Invernal Veracruzana
The Veracruz Winter League (Spanish: Liga Invernal Veracruzana de Béisbol Profesional) is a professional baseball winter league, representing the Mexican state of Veracruz, taking place between the months of October and January. It is currently made up of 6 teams and the league champion is invited to compete in the Latin American Series. History The league was formed in its current iteration in 2005 by the then-state governor Fidel Herrera Beltrán as a league representing an area of Mexico not covered by the other two professional leagues, with the Mexican Pacific League covering the Pacific side of the country and the Mexican League covering inland and southern Mexico, leaving Veracruz unrepresented up to that point. The league ran for eleven seasons before it was put on hold due to lack of funding, with youth competition Veracruz State League, representing the state from that point onwards. Oluta
Oluta is a city and municipality in the Mexican state of Veracruz. It is located in the south-east zone of the state, about 371 km from the state capital Xalapa. It has a surface of 90.48 km2. Estadio 20 de Noviembre is a multi-purpose stadium in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. It is the home stadium for the professional American football team Jefes de Ciudad Juárez from the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA). Cempoala
Cempoala or Zempoala (Nahuatl ''Cēmpoalātl'' 'Place of Twenty Waters') is an important Mesoamerican archaeological site located in the municipality of Úrsulo Galván in the Mexican state of Veracruz. The site was inhabited mainly by Totonacs, Chinantecas and Zapotecs. It was one of the most important Totonac settlements during the postclassical Mesoamerican period and the capital of the kingdom of Totonacapan. It is located one kilometer from the shore of the Actopan River and six kilometres from the coast. Cempoala was the first urban settlement the Spaniards saw upon arrival on the American continent. According to some sources, the city was founded at least 1,500 years before the Spanish arrival, and there is evidence of Olmec influence.
