Libuše Šafránková
Libuše Šafránková (married ''Abrhámová''; 7 June 1953 – 9 June 2021) was a Czech actress. She played leading roles in many Czech films and, according to audience polls, was the most popular Czech actress of the 20th century. She is best known for the title role in the 1973 fairy-tale film '' Three Wishes for Cinderella'', which is a Christmas classic in many European countries. Her husband was actor Josef Abrhám. Biography Libuše Šafránková was born on 7 June 1953 in a hospital in Brno, but is a native of the nearby town of Šlapanice, where her family lived. Her family was Catholic, which lasted even during the times when the Czechoslovak communist regime tried to suppress the Catholic faith. ''Jára Cimrman Lying, Sleeping'' () is a 1983 Czechoslovak comedy film directed by Ladislav Smoljak. It is a biopic of the fictional Czech national hero Jára Cimrman, who is portrayed by one of his inventors, Zdeněk Svěrák. The story is framed by an excursion to Liptákov, the (fictional) village where Cimrman allegedly spent the final years of his life. The retrospective passages, which make up most of the film, span Cimrman's whole "known" life, where he interacts with many personalities of Czech and European science and culture in the Belle Époque. A large portion of the film deals with Cimrman's acting as a tutor in the family of Franz Ferdinand d'Este, the heir presumptive of Austria-Hungary. Křtiny
Křtiny is a market town in Blansko District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 800 inhabitants. Geography Křtiny is located about southeast of Blansko and northeast of Brno. It lies in the Drahany Highlands, on the boundary of the Moravian Karst Protected Landscape Area. The highest point is the Proklest hill at above sea level. The stream of Křtinský potok flows through the municipality. Its tributary, a brook named Zemanův žleb, supplies several small fishponds. ''The Sarajevo Assassination'') is a 1975 Czechoslovak-Yugoslav-German co-production film directed by Veljko Bulajić, starring Christopher Plummer and Florinda Bolkan. The film is about the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie in Sarajevo in 1914 and the immediate aftermath that led to the outbreak of World War I. When the only surviving heir to Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria-Hungary, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, was killed by Gavrilo Princip, a Yugoslav nationalist, on 28 June 1914, his death set in motion a chain of events that resulted in the First World War.
