Lianyungang–Zhenjiang High-speed Railway
The Lianyungang–Zhenjiang high-speed railway is a high-speed railway in China. It has a design speed of . History In November 2014, construction was expected to take 4.5 years. The section from Lianyungang to Huai'an opened on 16 December 2019. The remainder was expected to open on 3 December 2020, however this did not go ahead. It opened on 11 December. Route Heading south from Lianyungang railway station, Lianyungang, the railway splits from the Qingdao–Yancheng railway after Dongji railway station, Dongji and continues south, serving Guanyun railway station, Guanyun, Guannan railway station, Guannan, and Lianshui railway station, Lianshui. The line meets the Xuzhou–Yancheng high-speed railway at Huai'an East railway station, Huai'an East but splits again to continue south. Lianyungang Railway Station
Lianyungang railway station () is a station in Haizhou District, Lianyungang, Haizhou District, Lianyungang, Jiangsu. History The station was established in 1925. The former site of the station was on Jiefang E. Road in the city center. In 1998, the station was moved to the current site together with the relocation of Longhai railway out of Lianyungang city center. The station was once named as Xinpu railway station (). It was changed to the current name on 1 January 2004. On 20 March 2015, the renovation and expansion project of the station started and the passenger services of the station was suspended. The former station building, opened in 1998, was demolished in 2016 to make room for new platforms and tracks. The new station building is south of the former site. The Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge () is a two-decked suspension bridge carrying the Lianyungang–Zhenjiang high-speed railway and the over the Yangtze.
