Let's do it! Armenia is a movement in Armenia, based upon the Let's Do It! World international ecological movement. In 2012, from 24 March until 25 September, the movement aimed to carry out the Pan-Armenian volunteer initiative "Armenia Without Garbage" which involved a number of activities (Pan-Armenian cleanup campaign, seminars etc.).The basis of the worldwide movement "Let's Do It! World" is the big cleanup (Let's do it! 2008) organized in Estonia in 2008, during which more than 50 000 volunteers were able to clean up Estonia from 10 000 tons of waste. Volunteer Movement
The Volunteer Force was a citizen army of part-time rifle, artillery and engineer corps, created as a popular movement throughout the British Empire in 1859. Originally highly autonomous, the units of volunteers became increasingly integrated with the British Army after the Childers Reforms in 1881, before forming part of the Territorial Force in 1908. Most of the regiments of the present Army Reserves Infantry, Artillery, Engineers and Signals units are directly descended from Volunteer Force units. Let's Do It! World
Let's Do It World is a global civic organization that started from Estonia, mobilizing people worldwide in joining local, national and regional clean-up events. Among other projects, it is the founder of World Cleanup Day, on which a network of 180 countries, with over 21.2 million participants took place in 2019. First time in 2024 World Cleanup Day mobilises millions in its first year as a UN International Day. The Let's Do It! organization was first conceived in Estonia in 2008, where a country clean-up action called ''Let's Do It 2008, Let's do it!'' (in Estonian language, Estonian: "Teeme ära!") cleaned up tons of illegal waste by more than volunteers in one day. Let's Do It 2008
Let's do it 2008 () was a large campaign on 3 May 2008, to activate civic society in Estonia in an effort to cleanup the country from litter. It was organized by Let's Do It! World. Preparation The litter pickup spots were marked by volunteers beforehand who used mobile phones to record the locations to a mapping system similar to Google maps. locations were recorded in total. Cultural figures, such as Jaan Tätte and Jarek Kasar, helped promote the campaign by participating in televised advertisements. Over partners helped during the cleanup organization process. Volunteers registering to the cleanup were asked to form 3-15 member teams, with each team receiving instructions before the cleanup day via e-mail. Cleanup Over people, or approximately 4% of the population of 1.3 million, participated in the cleanup of the forests and countryside.
