Finiq
Finiq ( sq, Finiq or Finiqi, el, Φοινίκη, Foiniki) is a settlement, considered town or village, and municipality in Vlorë County, in southern Albania located 8 km from the Ionian Sea and 20 km north of the Greek border. It was formed at the 2015 local government reform by the merger of the former communes Aliko, Dhivër, Livadhja, Mesopotam, and Finiq itself. It is inhabited by ethnic Greeks and is one of two municipalities in Albania in which Greeks form a majority, alongside Dropull. The seat of the municipality is the village Dermish. The total population is 10,529 (2011 census), in a total area of 444.28 km2. Tsamantas () is a village located in Epirus. Tsamantas lies near to the border with Albania in northern Greece, in the regional unit of Thesprotia. Indeed, the Albanian border is very clearly visible from the high lofts that are Tsamantas, the highest mountain in the region. You can also see Corfu on a clear day in the distance to your left, as you stand facing the Albanian border. An incredibly beautiful and scenic location, with some of the purest mountain water found anywhere in the Hellenic Republic. Dhrovjan ( sq-definite, Dhrovjani; el, Δρόβιανη, ''Droviani'') is a community in the Vlorë County, southern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became part of the municipality Finiq. It is located east of Sarandë. An ethnic Greek village, in 1967 it contained around 300 houses, divided into two ''Mahalle''. Ancient Greek coins have been excavated in the fields of Dhrovjan, which have provided evidence that there were once several ancient Greek temples in the area. Maliçan ( sq, Maliçani, el, Μάλτσιανη; romanized: ''Máltsiani'') is a small village in Vlorë County, southern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became part of the municipality of Finiq. It is inhabited solely by Greeks. History The village has around 16 churches (most ruined), with the most known being the Church of Panagia, dating back to the end of the 16th century.
