The Legislative Assembly of Manitoba () is the deliberative assembly of the Manitoba Legislature in the Provinces and territories of Canada, Canadian province of Manitoba. Fifty-seven members are elected to this assembly at List of Manitoba general elections, provincial general elections, all in single-member constituencies with first-past-the-post voting. Bills passed by the Legislative Assembly are given royal assent by the lieutenant governor of Manitoba in the name of the King of Canada. The Manitoba Legislative Building is located in central Winnipeg. The premier of Manitoba is Wab Kinew, and the speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba is Tom Lindsey. Both are members of the New Democratic Party of Manitoba, New Democratic Party. Cindy Lamoureux
Cindy Lamoureux (born November 13, 1991) is a Canadians, Canadian provincial politician, who was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba for the riding of Burrows (electoral district), Burrows in the 2016 Manitoba general election, 2016 election. She defeated NDP incumbent Melanie Wight, who had held the riding since the 2011 election. Elected at age 24, she was the youngest MLA in Manitoba upon her election. Lamoureux was appointed interim leader of the Manitoba Liberal Party on October 17, 2023 after she was the only Liberal to hold her seat in the 2023 Manitoba general election. The Manitoba Legislature is the legislature of the province of Manitoba, Canada. The 2023 Manitoba general election was held on October 3, 2023, to elect 57 members to the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba.
