Leavin' Teramis
''Leavin' Teramis'' is a 1990 run and gun video game developed and published by Thalion Software for the Atari ST. A port for the Amiga was released a few months later. Gameplay The player is Nigel MacGibbons and has awoken with a hangover in a spaceship full of alien monsters. Nigel has to blast his way through eight levels in a time limit. The game is a run and gun shooter depicted from a top down perspective. Reception ''Aktueller Software Markt'' said the game is a technical masterpiece but the gameplay has too little variety. ' recommended the game to action game fans but said casual gamers should try it before buying. ''The Games Machine'' compared the game unfavourable to Sega's ''Alien Syndrome'' and in conclusion said: "Leave this on the shelves; give it a miss." Thalion Software
Thalion Software was formed by members of the Atari ST demoscene in October 1988, in Gütersloh, Germany. The main aim of Thalion Software was to produce cutting edge technology games. Despite the technical quality, sales of the games never really matched expectations and by the end of 1994 the developers had left and the company eventually closed. The two founders were Erik Simon (of The Exceptions) and Holger Flöttmann. Flöttmann later went on to found another video games company, Ascaron. Newsfield Publications Ltd (also known as Newsfield) was a British magazine publisher during the 1980s and early 1990s. Newsfield Publications Ltd was founded by Roger Kean, Franco Frey and Oliver Frey in 1983. Based in Ludlow, Shropshire, Newsfield published a number of popular computer game magazines from the mid-1980s to early 1990s. This line-up was later supplemented by a number of less successful magazines covering role-playing games, film, horror and youth culture. Faced with financial difficulties, the company went bankrupt towards the end of 1991. This didn't spell the immediate end for some of their magazines though.
