Laura Allen (born March 21, 1974) is an American actress. She is known for her roles on the ABC Daytime soap opera ''All My Children'' (2000–2002) and the USA Network television series ''The 4400'' (2004–2005, 2007). She has also been a regular cast member on ''Dirt'' (2007 to 2008), ''Terriers'' (2010)'','' and ''Awake'' (2012)''.'' Early life Allen was born in Portland, Oregon, and grew up on Bainbridge Island, Washington. She is the middle child of three sisters. The Meisner technique is an approach to acting developed by American theatre practitioner Sanford Meisner. The goal of the Meisner approach is for the actor to not focus on themselves and instead concentrate on the other actors in the immediate environment. To this end, some exercises for the Meisner technique are rooted in repetition so that the words are deemed insignificant compared to the underlying emotion. In the Meisner technique, there is a greater focus on the other actor as opposed to one's internal thoughts or feelings associated with the character. ''Sucker Free City'' is a 2004 American crime drama television film directed by Spike Lee and written by Alex Tse. The film examines white, black, and Chinese characters in San Francisco and the conflicts they encounter with each other. Michael Cormac Newell (born 28 March 1942) is an English film and television director and producer. He won the BAFTA for Best Direction for '' Four Weddings and a Funeral'' (1994), which also won the BAFTA Award for Best Film, and directed the films '' Donnie Brasco'' (1997) and '' Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire'' (2005).
