Lanzin Youth Organization ( , ) was a youth organization in Socialist Republic of the Union of Burma (present-day Myanmar) for high school and university students to learn useful skills and about the socialist politics of the Burma Socialist Programme Party. It consisted of three main branches: Teza Youth ( ,), Shehsaung Youth ( ,) and Lanzin Youth ( ,). Teza Youth wore blue scarf and Pioneer Youth wore the red scarf. Establishment The Revolutionary Government of the Union of Burma dissolved the Union of Burma Boy Scouts and Girl Guides (UBBSGG), Lieutenant Ye Htoon, the Director General of the UBBSGG, reported on 1 March 1964. The Revolutionary Government had seized the UBBSGG and the assets of the UBBSGG were turned over to the Ministry of Education, which was authorized to form the Lanzin Youth Organization (Programme Youth Organization). The Myanmar Scout Association (''formerly known as the Union of Burma Boy Scouts'') is the national Scouting organization in Myanmar. Scouting in Myanmar was started in 1916 and disbanded in 1964 due to country's political changes; the current organization was formed in 2012 under the direct command of former President Thein Sein and supported by the Ministry of Education of Myanmar and became a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement on 11 August 2016. It has about 21,007 members. History Scouting was founded in Burma as part of the British Indian branch of The Scout Association during the colonial period, introduced in 1910 for British dependents. By 1913, Lone Scouts were found in Burma. Later, Scouting was opened to the Burmese. Pioneer Movement
A pioneer movement is an youth organization, organization for children operated by a communist party. Typically children enter into the organization in elementary school and continue until adolescence. The adolescents then typically join the Young Communist League. Prior to the 1990s there was a wide cooperation between pioneer and similar movements of about 30 countries, coordinated by the international organization, ''International Committee of Children's and Adolescents' Movements'' (, CIMEA), founded in 1958, with headquarters in Budapest, Hungarian People's Republic, Hungary.
