27th Golden Raspberry Awards
The 27th Golden Raspberry Awards, or Razzies, were held at the Ivar Theatre in Hollywood, California on February 24, 2007, to honor the worst films the film industry had to offer in 2006. The nominations were announced on January 22, 2007. '' Basic Instinct 2'' (which was dubbed by the ceremony as "Basically, It Stinks, Too") and '' Little Man'' received the most nominations with seven each. As has been the tradition, the nominations were announced the day before the Academy Awards nominations, with the award show scheduled one day before to the Academy Awards ceremony. In recent years, the organizers had added awards that were for a single year only. The Most Tiresome Tabloid Targets category from the previous year was replaced with Worst Excuse for Family Entertainment, which "salutes the death of quality G and PG-rated movie fare in 2006". The category Worst Remake or Sequel was split into two separate categories: Worst Prequel or Sequel and Worst Remake or Rip-off. For t ...

Box-office Bomb
A box-office bomb is a film that is unprofitable or considered highly unsuccessful during its theatrical run. Although any film for which the combined production budget, marketing, and distribution costs exceed the revenue after release has technically "bombed", the term is more frequently used for major studio releases that were highly anticipated, extensively marketed, and expensive to produce, but nevertheless failed commercially. Originally, a "bomb" had the opposite meaning, referring instead to a successful film that "exploded" at the box office. The term continued to be used this way in the United Kingdom into the 1970s. Causes Negative word of mouth With the advent of social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter in the 2000s, word of mouth regarding new films is easily spread and has had a marked effect on box office performance. A film's ability or failure to attract positive or negative commentary can strongly impact its performance at the box office, espe ...

Wide Awake (1998 Film)
''Wide Awake'' is a 1998 American comedy-drama film written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan and produced by Cathy Konrad and Cary Woods. Starring Denis Leary, Dana Delany, Joseph Cross, and Rosie O'Donnell, the film follows Cross as a ten-year-old boy who struggles with his grief and Christian faith after the recent loss of his grandfather. Released by Miramax Films, it was Shyamalan's first release by a major studio after his independently produced debut '' Praying with Anger'' in 1992, and was originally completed in 1995, although creative differences between Shyamalan and executive producer Harvey Weinstein led to significant delays. Being released before Shyamalan's widely successful next film ''The Sixth Sense'' (1999), ''Wide Awake'' went mostly unnoticed upon release, receiving mixed reviews and becoming a box-office failure. Plot During his fifth grade year, ten-year-old Joshua A. Beal begins a personal search to find answers about life and death — a journey tr ...
