La Picossa (Móra D'Ebre)
Mount Picossa () is a mountain in Catalonia, Spain. It is located within the Móra d'Ebre municipal limits, Ribera d'Ebre. The summit used to be a breeding ground for the Bonelli's eagle, but in the last few years the birds have failed to reproduce. Human disturbance has been deemed to be the cause and the access to the mountain has been restricted. Geography Mount Picossa is an isolated hill of the Catalan Central Depression. There is a triangulation station at the top marked "251139001". The Serra de Cavalls can be seen in the horizon looking south. Catalan Central Depression
The Catalan Central Depression () is a natural depression between the Pre-Pyrenees and the Catalan Pre-Coastal Range in Spain. It widens towards the west, linking with the Ebro Depression, , of which it could be considered an eastern extension. The Catalan Central Depression is about 180 km long with an average width of 50 km. Description The Catalan Central Depression consists of a succession of high plateaus between 800 and 1,000 metres in altitude that gradually lose height westwards until the Ebro Depression. Móra D'Ebre
Móra d'Ebre () is the capital of the ''comarca'' of the Ribera d'Ebre in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the right bank of the Ebre river in the Móra Hollow, and is served by the N-420 road to Reus and Gandesa, the N-230 road to Lleida. The Renfe railway line between Tarragona and Saragossa runs along the left bank of the river, with a station at Móra la Nova opposite the urban centre of Móra d'Ebre. History The most ancient settlements in the area date to 4th millennium BC, to the Neolithic . Later the Iberians lived here until the Roman conquest. Bonelli's eagle (''Aquila fasciata'') is a large bird of prey. The common name of the bird commemorates the Italian ornithologist and collector Franco Andrea Bonelli. Serra De Cavalls
Serra de Cavalls is a mountain chain located at the southern end of the Catalan Pre-Coastal Range, Catalonia, Spain. The ridge's highest point is Punta Redona (659.2 m). This mountain range lies within the Benissanet, Gandesa and El Pinell de Brai municipal term. On the northern side are two ridges of parallel foothills called Serra del Pebre and Serra de Santa Madrona. Its northern prolongation is known as Serra de la Vall de la Torre.
