L'Enclume
L'Enclume (, French for "the anvil") is a Modern British restaurant opened in 2002 in Cartmel, Cumbria, England, run by the chef Simon Rogan and his partner, Penny Tapsell. L'Enclume received a rating of 10 out of 10 five times in '' The Good Food Guide'' and was named their top restaurant for the fourth consecutive year in the 2017 guide, and placed second in the 2018 guide. It has received three Michelin stars and five AA Rosettes. History Following many years working as a chef, Rogan was keen to open his own restaurant and in 2002 whilst living in Littlehampton, he was told about an 800-year-old former smithy in Cartmel available to rent. Cartmel
Cartmel is a village in Furness (traditionally "Lancashire-over-the-Sands" (and in the ceremonial county of Cumbria), England, northwest of Grange-over-Sands close to the River Eea. The village takes its name from the Cartmel Peninsula, and it was historically known as Kirkby in Cartmel. The village is the location of the 12th-century Cartmel Priory, around which it initially grew. ''The Trip'' is a British television sitcom and feature film directed by Michael Winterbottom, starring Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon as fictionalised versions of themselves on a restaurant tour of northern England. The series was edited into feature film format and premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2010. The full series was first broadcast on BBC Two and BBC HD in the United Kingdom in November 2010. Both the TV series and film received very positive reviews. Three further series followed. Restaurant Nathan Outlaw is a two Michelin star restaurant owned and operated by Nathan Outlaw. It has previously been located in Marina Villa Hotel in Fowey, Cornwall, and in the St Enodoc Hotel in Rock, Cornwall. The Fat Duck
The Fat Duck is a fine dining restaurant in Bray, Berkshire, England, owned by the chef Heston Blumenthal. Housed in a 16th-century building, the Fat Duck opened on 16 August 1995. Although it originally served food similar to a French bistro, it soon acquired a reputation for precision and innovation, and has been at the forefront of many modern culinary developments, such as food pairing, flavour encapsulation and multi-sensory cooking. Marc Veyrat
Marc Veyrat (born 8 May 1950) is a French chef from the Haute-Savoie region, who specialises in molecular gastronomy and the use of mountain plants and herbs. Veyrat has obtained a total of nine Michelin Stars and is the first cook to get the perfect grade of 20/20 in the Gault et Millau guide for each of his two first restaurants. He was the owner of the restaurants ''La Maison de Marc Veyrat'' (or ''l'Auberge de l'Eridan'') in Veyrier-du-Lac and ''la Ferme de mon Père'' in Megève.
