L'Après-midi D'un Faune (EP)
''L'Après-midi d'un faune'' is Taiwanese singer Qing-Feng Wu’s third EP, which was released digitally on July 22, 2022. Conceived as an "international trilogy", the EP includes 4 songs co-produced with overseas musicians, including Norwegian singer Aurora, American singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright and Scottish musician Robin Guthrie, known for his band Cocteau Twins. This was Qing-Feng's first attempt at transnational cooperation and global distribution. The EP title comes from the poem of the same name by the 19th-century French poet Stéphane Mallarmé. This EP is also the intro to Qing-Feng Wu's third solo album '' Mallarme's Tuesdays'' and was released as a limited physical EP to be the gift for the pre-order of ''Mallarme's Tuesdays''. Wu Qing-feng
Wu Qing-feng ( zh, p=Wú Qīngfēng, s=吴青峰, t=吳青峰, first=t; born 1982), also known as Greeny and credited as Wu Tsing-fong, is a Taiwanese singer-song writer, composer, arranger, and lyricist. Born in Taipei, he is a founding member and the lead vocalist of Sodagreen, Oaeen (Sodagreen) and is the major composer and lyricist of the band. Aside from producing the music for the band, he also writes songs for numerous Mandarin singers. Mandopop
Mandopop or Mandapop refers to Mandarin popular music. The genre has its origin in the jazz-influenced popular music of 1930s Shanghai known as Shidaiqu; later influences came from Japanese enka, Hong Kong's Cantopop, Taiwan's Hokkien pop, and in particular the campus folk song folk movement of the 1970s. "Mandopop" may be used as a general term to describe popular songs performed in Mandarin. Though Mandopop predates Cantopop, the English term was coined around 1980 after " Cantopop" became a popular term for describing popular songs in Cantonese. Robin Guthrie
Robin Andrew Guthrie (born 4 January 1962) is a Scottish musician, songwriter, composer, record producer and audio engineer, best known as the co-founder of the post punk alternative rock band Cocteau Twins. During his career Guthrie has performed guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, drums and other musical instruments, in addition to programming, sampling and sound processing. Early life Guthrie grew up in Grangemouth, Scotland. There were musical instruments in his family's home, but he never had any proper musical training. With an interest in electronics and trained as an electrician, Guthrie started to experiment with fuzz boxes and guitar pedals to find an alternative sound for his guitar. Cocteau Twins
Cocteau Twins were a Scottish rock music, rock band active from 1979 to 1997. They were formed in Grangemouth on the Firth of Forth by Robin Guthrie (guitars, drum machine) and Will Heggie (bass), adding Elizabeth Fraser (vocals) in 1981. In 1983, Heggie was replaced with multi-instrumentalist Simon Raymonde. The group earned critical praise for their ethereal, Audio signal processing, effects-laden sound and the soprano vocals of Fraser, whose lyrics often eschew any recognisable language. ''Mallarme's Tuesdays'' ( zh, 馬拉美的星期二) is the third studio album by Taiwanese singer-songwriter Wu Qing-feng. Produced by Qing-Feng Wu and Howe Chen (陳君豪), the album was officially released on September 30, 2022. It collects 12 songs and had domestic and oversea musicians from different fields invited to participate in the production of each song, including singers Stefanie Sun, Lisa Ono, ohashiTrio, Les Petits Chanteurs de Saint-Marc and pianist Chun-Chieh Yen. Faun
The faun (, ; , ) is a half-human and half-goat mythological creature appearing in Greek and Roman mythology. Originally fauns of Roman mythology were ghosts ( genii) of rustic places, lesser versions of their chief, the god Faunus. Before their conflation with Greek satyrs, they and Faunus were represented as naked men (e.g. the Barberini Faun). Later fauns became copies of the satyrs of Greek mythology, who themselves were originally shown as part-horse rather than part-goat.
