Keshet Media Group, also known as the Keshet company (), is an Israeli private mass media company headquartered in Tel Aviv. Its media and online news outlet Mako is one of the major Israeli ones. The company has operated Keshet Broadcasting, a television broadcast operator and a franchisee of Israel's Channel 2 (Israel), Channel 2, since 1993 and up until November 2017. Since November 2017's licensing reform, it was rebranded in Israel as Keshet 12, a separate channel. Keshet shows original drama series, entertainment, current affairs, lifestyle shows, and foreign programs. Keshet's global production and distribution arm is Keshet International, and the company's digital branch is Mako, one of the top three most-visited websites in Israel. Avi Nir (; born 1961) is an Israeli television executive, entrepreneur, writer and producer. He is the CEO of the Israeli media group Keshet Broadcasting serving as a leading content and programming director. He is known as the Executive producer of the American television program ''Homeland'' for which he was personally granted an Emmy Award. Biography Avi Nir was born in Jerusalem, to a Jewish family. He holds a BA from the department of Film and Television at the Tel Aviv University. He also attended the Tel Aviv University Graduate School of Business where he received his MA and MBA. He published various academic articles and received the Sigal Prize for excellence in marketing research. He also studied for one semester at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts. Shmuel Hasfari
Shmuel Hasfari (; born 26 August 1954) is an Israeli playwright and screenwriter. He was artistic director of the Cameri Theatre. Biography Shmuel Hasfari was born in Ramat Gan to Holocaust survivor parents from History of the Jews in Poland, Poland; theirs was a religious family. ''The Thick of It'' is a British comedy television series created, written and directed by Armando Iannucci that satirises the inner workings of British government.
