Kees Bruynzeel
Cornelis ("Kees") Bruynzeel Jr. (February 19, 1900 in Rotterdam – August 1. 1980 in Greece) was a Dutch businessman, timber merchant and yachtsman. Early years Bruynzeel was the son of Cornelis Bruynzeel Sr., who founded a timber factory in 1897, and Antoinette Lels. He studied in The Hague, and took several trips to the United States and Sweden to study progress in automatization and wood manufacturing. In 1920 he became manager of the family's new door factory in Zaandam. In 1922 he married Titia Verkade, granddaughter of the industrialist Ericus Gerhardus Verkade. Bruynzeel Jr. was an avid sailor. He won the Fastnet race for the Netherlands in 1937 with his Stephens-designed yawl ''Zeearend'' ("sea eagle", the eagle being the logo of the Bruynzeel company). The Dutch designer Piet Zwart worked closely with Bruynzeel's father and his brother Willem (he designed their first kitchens) and was involved with the design of the Zeearend as well. Kees (Cornelis) van Prooijen (born 7 August 1952) is a creator of computer art. Although it does not bear his name, he independently discovered the Bohlen-Pierce scale, a non- octave-repeating scale based on the tritave and spectra containing odd harmonics, in 1978. Cornelis "Kees" Alidanis Pijl (9 June 1897 – 3 September 1976) was a Dutch footballer who was active as a striker. Cornelis W. "Kees" Moeliker (born 9 October 1960) is a Dutch biologist and director of the Natural History Museum Rotterdam. He is also European Bureau Chief of the ''Annals of Improbable Research''. Early years Moeliker's father worked for forty years as a technical illustrator for the (subsequently superseded) :nl:PTT (Nederland), Dutch post office. Kees himself was provided with education at the Pieter Caland School in Rotterdam. During this time he used to wander across the nature reserves in the Rotterdam area. On one of his walks, in 1973, he made the first ever recorded observation in the area of an Egyptian goose, Egyptian Nile goose (''Alopochen aegyptiacus''). He went on to study biology and geography at a teacher training institution in Delft. He graduated with a research project on the winter-season feeding ecology of the Long eared owl (''Asio otus''). Kees Junior Meeuws (; born 26 July 1974) is a New Zealand former rugby union prop and former assistant coach of the Highlanders in the Super Rugby competition, and also a real estate agent by trade and a painter by education. Meeuws played 42 tests for the All Blacks between 1998 and 2004, scoring 10 test tries. He played provincial rugby for Otago and Auckland, and played for the Blues in the Super 12. In 2004, Meeuws left New Zealand to take up a contract with French club Castres Olympique, and in 2006 he left Castres for Agen after a falling-out with Castres coach Laurent Seigne. Following Agen's relegation after the 2006–07 season, Meeuws left Agen and returned to Castres, signing a two-year contract with the club. Cornelis Johannes Maks (August 22, 1876 – October 28, 1967), known as Kees Maks, was a Dutch painter born in Amsterdam. He studied for a time at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam, before becoming a pupil of George Hendrik Breitner.Jansen, G., "Maks, Cornelis Johannes ees, Oxford Art Online Maks exhibited internationally. Kees Luijckx (; born 11 February 1986) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. He earned 7 caps with the Netherlands U21 youth team. Club career Born in Beverwijk, North Holland. Luijckx began his career in his hometown Castricum with Vitesse 1922 before being scouted AZ in 1996.
