Kaja Kallas' First Cabinet
Kaja Kallas' first cabinet was the Cabinet of Estonia between 26 January 2021 and 14 July 2022. It was a grand coalition cabinet of the Reform Party and the Centre Party until 3 June 2022 when Kallas dismissed Centre Party ministers from government after several weeks of disputes between the two parties. Background The cabinet was formed after the previous cabinet led by the Centre Party resigned on 14 January 2021 following the resignation of the prime minister Jüri Ratas in the wake of a corruption scandal. Keit Pentus-Rosimannus
Keit Pentus-Rosimannus (born 3 March 1976) is an Estonian politician who served as Minister of Finance in the government of Prime Minister Kaja Kallas between 26 January 2021 and 19 October 2022. She is also the vice-chairwoman of the biggest parliament party Reform Party and former chairwoman of its parliamentary faction. Pentus-Rosimannus previously served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2014 to 2015 and as Minister of the Environment from 2011 to 2014. Stenbock House ( et, Stenbocki maja) is a prominent neo-classical building located on Toompea, Toompea hill, Tallinn. It is the official seat of the Government of Estonia. History The history of the Stenbock house in Tallinn goes back to the 1780s, when the Russian Empire, Russian Imperial administration of what was then the Governorate of Estonia launched a scheme to erect new buildings for administrative purposes. Originally, the building was intended as a courthouse. Count Jakob Pontus Stenbock, a member of the Baltic nobility, local nobility and landowner with an estate on the island of Hiiumaa, won the tender to erect a new building on Toompea hill in the middle of Tallinn's medieval centre.
