Kai Kruse
Kai-Christian Kruse (born 19 August 1991) is a German former cyclist and rower. As a rower, he competed at the 2012 Summer Paralympics, winning a silver medal. As a cyclist, he competed in track cycling at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Paralympics, winning a bronze medal in the former. Early life At the age of three, Kruse collided with another child while running in the hall and suffered a severe concussion. The optic nerve was damaged so badly that he lost part of his vision. Sporting career Kruse began rowing in 2001 and started for the Hamburg rowing club Favorite Hammonia. With the club eight, he took part in the rowing national league, among other events. From 2010, he concentrated on para-rowing, and the following year he was nominated as a substitute for the World Championships for the first time. Anine Susanne Kruse Skatrud (born 1 November 1977) is a Norwegian musician and choral conductor, the daughter of Professor of Music Gro Shetelig and the composer Bjørn Kruse, sister of actress and singers Jannike Kruse, Jannike and Benedikte Shetelig Kruse, Benedikte Kruse, and married to trombonist and bandleader Even Kruse Skatrud, Even Skatrud Andersen. Lealaialoa Fredrickus Michael Kruse (born January 27, 1948) is the Chief Justice of the High Court of American Samoa. Kruse made history as the first person of Samoan descent to be appointed Chief Justice of the High Court of American Samoa. Kruse earned his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degree from Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand, and later obtained an Master of Comparative Law degree from George Washington University Law School in Washington, DC. He practiced law for 11 years at the firm of Kruse, Sunia, and Ward in Pago Pago before being appointed Chief Justice by U.S. Secretary of the Interior, Donald Hodel. Esmond Gerald "Tom" Kruse MBE (28 August 1914 – 30 June 2011) was a mail carrier on the Birdsville Track in the border area between South Australia and Queensland. He became known nationally as the result of John Heyer's 1954 film '' The Back of Beyond''. He was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 1955 New Year Honours, "for services to the community in the outback". Early life Kruse was born at Waterloo in South Australia to Harry (Heinrich) and Ida Kruse. He was the tenth of their twelve children. He left school when he was 14 years old, and worked as a casual labourer on local farms. However, due to the Depression, he "went 'bush'" around 1934 to work in John Penna's haulage business which ran out of Yunta in the mid-north of South Australia. Sigrid Maria Kruse (2 September 1867 – 19 September 1950) was a Swedish educator, children's writer and suffragist. In addition to her teaching activities in Karlskrona, she strongly supported the suffrage movement, contributing articles to magazines, publishing brochures and speaking at meetings. Major-General August von Kruse (1779 in Wiesbaden, Nassau (modern-day Germany) – January 1848), was a general in the army of the Duke of Nassau during the Napoleonic Wars and an experimental farmer in his retirement. von Kruse organized the military of the state of Nassau during the Napoleonic Wars, and participated in the lengthy French campaign in the Iberian Peninsula; under secret orders from his Duke, he switched sides in 1814, and fought against the French in northern Europe. He commanded the Nassau infantry brigade at the Battle of Waterloo.
