Kolmonen
Kolmonen or III divisioona is the fifth level in the Finnish football league system, league system of Finnish football and comprises 108 Finland, Finnish football (soccer), football teams. The III divisioona was introduced in 1973 and in the mid-1990s became known as the Kolmonen (''Number Three'' in English and ''Trean'' in Swedish). Until the end of 2023 season, Kolmonen was the fourth level in the pyramid, but after the creation of new second-tier Ykkösliiga, Kolmonen fell down one level, starting in 2024. The competition There are 108 clubs in the Kolmonen, divided in 10 groups of 8 to 12 teams each representing a geographical area. During the course of a season (starting in April and ending in October) each club plays the others twice, once on their home ground and once on that of their opponents. The top team in each Kolmonen group is promoted to Kakkonen and the two lowest placed teams are normally relegated to the Nelonen (football), Nelonen. Administration Football ... Ponnistus
Helsingin Ponnistus (abbreviated Ponnistus) is a football club from Helsinki, Finland. The club was formed in 1887 making it the oldest football club in Finland. The men's first team currently plays in the Nelonen (Fourth Division) and their home ground is at the Haapaniemen Kenttä. Background The sports club was founded on 6 September 1887 by Viktor Damm (1864–1944) supported by 5 other young men. In its early days the club specialised in gymnastics and athletics. Nowadays football is the main sport. The club has also been playing bandy. It was the runner-up for the bandy championship of the Finnish Workers' Sports Federation in 1948. Ponnistus have had a variable degree of success in the Finnish football league and have participated in all four top tiers of Finnish football since the war years. TuPS
Tuusulan Palloseura (abbreviated TuPS) is a sports club from Tuusula in Finland. The club was formed in 1971 and their home ground is at the Tuusulan urheilukeskus. The men's football first team currently plays in the Kolmonen (Third Division) while the ladies team plays in Section A of the Kakkonen. The Chairman of TuPS is Jari Klemetti. In addition to football the club has been active in ice-hockey and ringette. Background Tuusulan Palloseura was founded on 29 November 1971 as a football club serving the South Tuusula area. The club has expanded from 30 members to more than 700 members. In 2002 the club was awarded the quality seal in recognition of its high-quality youth activities. TuPS has spent many seasons in the lower divisions of the Finnish football league. FC Viikingit
FC Viikingit is a Finnish football club based in Vuosaari, East Helsinki, and currently playing in the ''Vitonen'', the sixth tier of Finnish football. They play their home matches at Vuosaaren urheilukenttä, also called Heteniitty. The club's name and crest refer to Vikings, and they are known for their red colour. FC Viikingit played the 2007 season in the Finnish premier division (''Veikkausliiga''), but were relegated to the ''Ykkönen'' and competed there until 2014, when they were relegated to Kakkonen. The club's reserve team, FC Viikkarit, were promoted to the ''Kakkonen'' for the 2014 season but they had to give it up, because they were not able to play on the same division as the main team. FC Espoo is a Finnish football club. It was based in the city of Espoo, Finland. Founded in 1989, the first team plays in the Kolmonen, the fourth tier of the Finnish football pyramid. The club is amateur and focuses mainly on junior football sides for youth development. The first team of FC Espoo plays its home games at Leppävaaran stadion in the district Leppävaara in the Greater Helsinki region. Malmin Palloseura (abbreviated as MPS) is a Helsinki-based football club that was formed in Malmi, Helsinki in 1948. The club's first team has been playing mostly in the Second and Third Divisions. HIFK, the Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna, Helsingfors (IFK, Helsingfors) rf (officially abbreviated IFK Helsingfors, colloquially often Helsingfors IFK or Helsingin IFK) is a multi-sport association based in Helsinki, Finland. HPS Helsinki
Helsingin Palloseura (HPS) () is a sports club from Helsinki, Finland established in 1917. HPS has been active in several sports including bandy, ice hockey, football, handball and basketball. Historically, HPS men's team is one of the most successful football teams in Finland, winning nine national championships during the 1920s and 1930s. The team is currently playing in the fourth highest league, however. In bandy, the club was the runner-up for the Finnish championship in 1920. Famous HPS footballers have included William Kanerva, Aulis Koponen, Max Viinioksa, Kai Pahlman, Jyrki Heliskoski and Pertti Alaja.
