"Knockin' da Boots" is the debut single by R&B group H-Town, taken from their debut album '' Fever for da Flavor''. The song became one of the biggest R&B singles of 1993 according to the ''Billboard'' charts, where it peaked at number three for seven weeks, and also topped the R&B chart for four weeks, and it helped win the band a Soul Train Music Award for Best R&B/Soul or Rap New Artist. The song was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America and sold over 1.1 million copies. The song contains replayed elements of " Be Alright" by Zapp. In a profile of distinguished lawyer Kristine A. Huskey, ''Marie Claire'' magazine reported that Huskey had appeared as a dancer in the song's music video while attending law school. H-Town is an American R&B vocal group from Houston, Texas, United States. H-Town was founded in 1990 by twin brothers Keven "Dino" Conner ( 1974 – 2003), Solomon “Shazam" Conner and their friend Darryl "G.I." Jackson. H-Town recorded six hits during the early to mid–1990s. History Formation The group grew up together in Houston's Yellowstone neighborhood located on the south side of the city. While attending Jack Yates High School, in 1991, Keven and Solomon Conner formed a band with Darryl Jackson. They were known as "The Gents" and recorded their first album, ''It's No Dream'', with producer Phil Blackmon. Shazam was chosen as lead singer at the time of recording this album, which featured the ballad "A Time for Us". The album was released locally and was not a huge commercial success. The European Dance Radio Chart (also known as European Dance Radio Top 25) was a weekly chart compiled by pan-European magazine ''Music & Media''. After dance music had played a more dominant role on the magazine's Eurochart Hot 100 in the beginning of the 1990s, the new chart was launched on 28 September 1991. Based on a weighted-scoring system, it was compiled on the basis of playlists of European stations programming various styles of dance music, including hip hop/rap, R&B and swingbeat, for the 15-30 year-olds, fulltime or during specific dayparts.
