Kevin O'Neill (comics)
Kevin O'Neill ( – 3 November 2022) was an English comic book illustrator who was the co-creator of '' Nemesis the Warlock'', '' Marshal Law'' (both with writer Pat Mills), and '' The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen'' (with Alan Moore). Early life O'Neill was born in London on 22 August 1953, the son of a contractor father and a homemaker mother. Career Early career O'Neill began working for the publishing company IPC at the age of 16 as an office boy for '' Buster'', which was a children's humour title. In 1972 he published two issues of the fanzine ''World of Comics''. In 1975 he started publishing, as a personal side project, the fanzine ''Just Imagine: The Journal of Film and Television Special Effects'' which lasted five regular issues and one special issue through 1978. Virtual International Authority File
The Virtual International Authority File (VIAF) is an international authority file. It is a joint project of several national libraries, operated by the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC). History Discussions about having a joint international authority started in the late 1990s. After several failed attempts to develop a unique joint authority file, the new idea was to link existing national authorities. This would present all the benefits of a standard file without requiring a significant investment of time and expense in the process. The project was initiated by the American Library of Congress (LOC), the German National Library (DNB), and the OCLC in April 1998 as a proof-of-concept that authority records can be linked. The Omega Men are a fictional team of extraterrestrial superheroes who have appeared in various comic book series published by DC Comics. They first appeared in ''Green Lantern'' (vol. 2) #141 (June 1981), and were created by Marv Wolfman and Joe Staton. ''Hardware'' is a 1990 science fiction horror film written and directed by Richard Stanley, in his feature directorial debut. It stars Dylan McDermott and Stacey Travis, and also features cameo appearances by musicians Carl McCoy, Iggy Pop and Lemmy. An example of the cyberpunk subgenre, the plot of ''Hardware'' follows a self-repairing robot that goes on a rampage in a post-apocalyptic slum. Richard Stanley (film Director)
Richard Stanley is a South African filmmaker, known for his work in the horror genre. He began his career making short films and music videos, and subsequently directed the feature films '' Hardware'' (1990) and ''Dust Devil'' (1992). He was the original director of ''The Island of Dr. Moreau'' (1996), but was fired early into principal photography due to creative differences, an episode recounted in the 2014 documentary '' Lost Soul: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley's Island of Dr. Moreau''. Steve MacManus (sometimes credited as Ian Rogan; born 1953) is a British comic writer and editor, particularly known for his work at '' 2000 AD''. Biography Born in London and educated in Devon, MacManus joined IPC in 1973, aged 20, as a sub-editor on the boys' weekly comic '' Valiant'', until 1975 when he moved to ''Battle Picture Weekly'' under editor David Hunt. Judge Joseph Dredd is a fictional character created by writer John Wagner and artist Carlos Ezquerra. "Going Underground" is a single by English rock band the Jam, written by lead guitarist Paul Weller and released in March 1980. It debuted at number one in the UK Singles Chart, spending three weeks at the top. "Going Underground" was the first of four number one singles the band were to achieve throughout their career.
