Kevin Higgins (American Football)
Kevin Higgins (born December 1, 1955) is an American football coach. On December 16, 2013, he resigned his long-time position as head football coach at The Citadel to accept an assistant head coach position at Wake Forest. He held The Citadel position from 2005 through 2013. Prior to his position with The Citadel, Higgins was head football coach at Lehigh University from 1994 through 2000. He played college football at West Chester University. A native of Emerson, New Jersey, he played football at Emerson Jr./Sr. High School, and coached at his alma mater from 1977 to 1978. Prior to receiving the head coaching position at Lehigh, Higgins held assistant coaching positions at Gettysburg and Richmond. During the interim between Lehigh and The Citadel, Higgins served as quarterbacks and wide receivers coach for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League. Appalachian State Mountaineers Football
The Appalachian State Mountaineers football team is the intercollegiate American football team representing Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. The Mountaineers have competed in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) and the Sun Belt Conference since 2014. Appalachian plays its home games in Kidd Brewer Stadium, named after former head coach Kidd Brewer, whose 1937 squad was unbeaten and unscored upon during the regular season, outscoring opponents 206–0. 1994 Lehigh Engineers Football Team
The 1994 Lehigh Engineers football team was an American football team that represented Lehigh University during the 1994 NCAA Division I-AA football season. Lehigh tied for second in the Patriot League. In their first year under head coach Kevin Higgins, the Engineers compiled a 5–5–1 record. Dan Gormsen and Sam Lawler were the team captains. The Engineers were outscored 314 to 307. Their 3–2 conference record, however, tied for second place in the six-team Patriot League standings. Dowell Loggains
Dowell Loggains (born October 1, 1980) is an American football coach who currently serves as the head football coach for the Appalachian State Mountaineers. He has been the offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans, Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins and New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football as a quarterback for the Arkansas Razorbacks, and later he served as the tight ends coach there as well. He held the offensive coordinator job for the South Carolina Gamecocks before being hired by Appalachian State. Cortez Allen
Cortez Lequon Allen (born October 29, 1988) is an American former professional football cornerback. Allen played college football at The Citadel. Allen was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL draft. Early life Allen was born in San Diego, California and grew up in Citra, Florida. He graduated from North Marion High School of Citra in 2006 prior to being recruited to The Citadel. While in high school, Allen played varsity football only in his senior year and also ran on the track and field team. Allen earned all-state and all-city football honors in his one year of varsity football and was part of the 2005 regional championship team. The 2012 Georgia Southern Eagles football team represented Georgia Southern University in the 2012 NCAA Division I FCS football season. They were led by third-year head coach Jeff Monken and played their home games at Paulson Stadium. They were a member of the Southern Conference. They finished the season 10–4, 6–2 in SoCon play to claim a share of the conference championship with Appalachian State and Wofford.
