Ketti Frings (28 February 1909 – 11 February 1981) was an American writer, playwright, and screenwriter who won a Pulitzer Prize in 1958. Early life and education Katherine Hartley was born in Columbus, Ohio. She attended Principia College. Career She began her career as a copywriter, and went on to work as a feature writer for United Press International. In 1941, her novel ''Hold Back the Dawn'' was adapted for the screen. The resulting movie was directed by Mitchell Leisen and starred Olivia de Havilland and Charles Boyer. She wrote her first Broadway play, '' Mr. Sycamore'', in 1942. The play featured Lillian Gish and Stuart Erwin in the lead roles. Ekaterina Nikolayevna de Galanta (; born ), often billed as Ketty Galanta, was a Russian ballerina and member of the Ballets Russes. Early life Galanta was born and raised in Saint Petersburg. She was the daughter of Nikolai von Galanta/de Galanta, from a Hungarian nobility, Hungarian noble family Esterházy, Esterházy de Galántha. In 1917, she was described as being 20 or 21 years old. Nikolai Legat was her first ballet teacher. Career Galanta toured in the United States with the Ballets Russes in 1916, with Vaslav Nijinsky, Adolph Bolm, Flore Revalles, Lydia Lopokova, Olga Spessivtseva, and Valentina Kachouba, among others in the company of forty dancers. Ketti Gallian (25 December 1912 – December 1972) was a French actress. Early life Gallian was born in Nice. Career She went to Paris at the age of 15 and secured work as a model. She later went back to Nice and appeared in a number of foreign films made by Paramount. Her performance in ''The Ace'', in which she played opposite Raymond Massey on the London stage, resulted in a screen contract from Fox. Ketty Gilsoul-Hoppe (5 April 1868 – 15 November 1939) was a Belgian painter who mostly worked in watercolors. Gilsoul-Hoppe was born in Düsseldorf as the daughter of the engraver Edouard Hoppe.
