The Kerala women's football team is an Indian women's football team representing Kerala in the Senior Women's National Football Championship. They have appeared in the Santosh Trophy finals once, and were the runners-up at their maiden attempt at the 2005–06 Senior Women's National Football Championship edition against the reigning champions Manipur at Rourkela. The Kerala Football Association (abbreviated ''Kerala FA''), formerly the Travancore-Cochin Football Association, is one of the 36 Indian state football associations that are affiliated with the All India Football Federation (AIFF). Senior Women's National Football Championship
The Senior Women's National Football Championship for Rajmata Jijabai Trophy, also known as Senior Women’s National Football Championship or simply the Rajmata Jijabai Trophy since 2024, is a women's football tournament contested by state associations and government institutions in India. The first edition was held in 1991 and is organized by the All India Football Federation to crown the national women's football champion each year. It is based on a league and knockout format. Format The format consists of zonal group stages where all the state teams participate. It is followed by the final round. When the number of teams is known, those are divided into eight groups with equal number of teams. The preliminary qualifying league will be played on a single leg league basis. 2023–24 Senior Women's National Football Championship
The 2023–24 Senior Women's National Football Championship for Rajmata Jijabai Trophy was the 28th edition of the Senior Women's National Football Championship, the premier competition in India for women's teams representing regional and state football associations. Format Thirty teams have been divided into six groups in the qualifying round, which will be played in six different venues across the country. The Final Round of the competition will have a total of 12 teams. Three teams have gained direct entry to the final round - defending champions Tamil Nadu, last season's runners-up Haryana and final round hosts West Bengal. The six group winners and three best runners-up will qualify for the final round which will be held in West Bengal in April 2024. The final round will be held with two groups of six teams each.
