Kentucky's 15th Senate District
Kentucky's 15th Senatorial district is one of 38 districts in the Kentucky Senate. Located in the southern part of the state, it comprises the counties of Clinton County, Kentucky, Clinton, Cumberland County, Kentucky, Cumberland, Pulaski County, Kentucky, Pulaski, Russell County, Kentucky, Russell, and Wayne County, Kentucky, Wayne. It has been represented by Rick Girdler (Republican Party (United States), R–Somerset, Kentucky, Somerset) since 2017. As of 2022, the district had a population of 118,101. Kentucky Senate District 15 (2022)
Kentucky ( , ), officially the Commonwealth of Kentucky, is a state in the Southeastern region of the United States and one of the states of the Upper South. It borders Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio to the north; West Virginia and Virginia to the east; Tennessee to the south; and Missouri to the west. Its northern border is defined by the Ohio River. The Reform Party of the United States of America (RPUSA), generally known as the Reform Party USA or the Reform Party, is a centrist political party in the United States, founded in 1995 by Ross Perot. Perot believed Americans were disillusioned with the state of politics as being corrupt and unable to deal with vital issues. After he received 18.9 percent of the popular vote as an independent candidate in the 1992 presidential election, he founded the Reform Party and presented it as a viable alternative to Republicans and Democrats. Allison Ball
Allison Ball (born August 27, 1981) is an American attorney and politician who serves as the Kentucky State Treasurer. She is a member of the Republican Party. Early years and career Ball is a ninth-generation Eastern Kentuckian. Her family has resided in Eastern Kentucky since the 1790s. She is the daughter of Ron and Amy Ball and has a younger brother, Jonathan. Ball earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law. She worked for the personal injury law firm Vanover, Hall & Bartley. She served for four years as an Assistant Floyd County Attorney prosecuting child abuse and juvenile delinquency cases. Mike Harmon (politician)
Mike Harmon (born October 16, 1966) is an American politician serving as the Kentucky auditor of public accounts. He was previously a Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives for the 54th district. He was a 2011 candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky, but lost in the primary. In 2015, Harmon was elected state Auditor, after defeating Democratic incumbent Adam Edelen. He was the only Republican statewide candidate run unopposed in the primary. Whitney H. Westerfield (born November 29, 1980) is an American attorney, politician and a Republican member of the Kentucky Senate representing District 3 since January 8, 2013. In 2015, Westerfield was the unsuccessful Republican nominee for Attorney General of Kentucky, losing to Democrat Andy Beshear by a margin of 0.2 percent. Matthew Griswold Bevin (; born January 9, 1967) is an American businessman and politician who served as the 62nd governor of Kentucky, from 2015 to 2019. He was the third Republican elected Kentucky governor since World War II, after Ernie Fletcher (2003–2007) and Louie Nunn (1967–1971). Born in Denver, Colorado, and raised in Shelburne, New Hampshire, Bevin earned a bachelor's degree at Washington and Lee University in 1989, then served four years of active duty in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of captain.
