The Gibson County portion of Kenton is part of the Humboldt, TN Micropolitan Statistical Area, while the Obion County portion is part of the Union City, TN– KY Micropolitan Statistical Area. Kenton, Manitoba
Kenton is an unincorporated community recognized as a local urban district in Manitoba, Canada. It is located in the Rural Municipality of Woodworth, about an hour's drive west of Brandon. The first permanent settlement of the area began in 1881, following the westward expansion of the borders of the province of Manitoba. The settlement was named for its first postmaster, A.W. Kent. Kenton became an unincorporated village district in 1947. In 1986, the community had a population of 158. Water supply for the community is from the nearby half-mile long Kenton Reservoir on Bars Creek, a tributary of the Oak River. Kenton is a city in and the county seat of Hardin County, Ohio, United States, located in the west-central part of Ohio about 57 mi (92 km) northwest of Columbus and 70 mi (113 km) south of Toledo. Its population was 7,947 at the 2020 census. The city was named for frontiersman Simon Kenton of Kentucky and Ohio. History Kenton was originally the site of Fort McArthur, erected in 1812 by Colonel Duncan McArthur as one of the forts along the line of General William Hull's march against the British headquarters at Fort Detroit during the War of 1812. In 1845, Kenton was incorporated as a village; it became a city in 1886. The city was named after frontiersman Simon Kenton. History Kenton was available in the variants ''"Aromatic Blend"'' (Blue), ''"Menthol"'' (Green) and ''"American Blend"'', which was later renamed to ''"Extra Quality"'' (Red). The Kenton Hotel is a historic hotel in Portland, Oregon. It was built in 1909, added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 16, 1990, and identified as a contributing resource in the Kenton Commercial Historic District when the district was added to the National Register on September 3, 2001. History The building was first built by the Swift Meat Packing company in 1909. Since the building deteriorated from the 1970s to the 1980s, it was almost demolished in 1990. Kenton is a neighborhood in the north section of Portland, Oregon, United States. The neighborhood was originally a company town founded in 1911 for the Swift Meat Packing Company. Geography Kenton's northern border is formed by North Portland Harbor, the channel of the Columbia River that separates the area from Hayden Island. Kenton's eastern boundary is Interstate 5 and the neighborhood's southern edge is defined by North Lombard Street. The western border (traveling from north to south, respectively) follows North Portland Road, North Columbia Boulevard, and North Chautauqua Boulevard. The Columbia Slough passes through Kenton.
