Kent County Football Association
The Kent County Football Association, now known as ''Kent FA'', is the governing body of football in the county of Kent, England. It was formed in 1881 and has governed the game of football, under the aegis of The Football Association (FA), since that date. The Kent FA controls, manages, regulates and promotes the game and its development at all levels within the County. The association operates 25 County Cups for its affiliated clubs at different age groups (from youth to veteran) and levels for both men and women. Ditton, Kent
Ditton is a large village and civil parish in the borough of Tonbridge and Malling in Kent, England. The village is west-northwest of Maidstone and east of West Malling. The parish, which is long and narrow, straddles the A20 road (England), A20 (the old Dover to London road), with farmland to the south and industry to the north. It lies in the Medway Valley, on the northern edge of the Kent Weald, and adjoins the ancient parishes of East Malling and Larkfield, Larkfield, Aylesford and Barming. Gravesend
Gravesend is a town in northwest Kent, England, situated 21 miles (35 km) east-southeast of Charing Cross (central London) on the Bank (geography), south bank of the River Thames, opposite Tilbury in Essex. Located in the diocese of Rochester, it is the administrative centre of the borough of Gravesham. Margate F
Margate is a seaside town in the Thanet District of Kent, England. It is located on the north coast of Kent and covers an area of long, north-east of Canterbury and includes Cliftonville, Garlinge, Palm Bay and Westbrook. In 2011 it had a population of 61,223. The town has been a significant maritime port since the Middle Ages, and was associated with Dover as part of the Cinque Ports in the 15th century. It became a popular place for holidaymakers in the 18th century, owing to easy access via the Thames, and later with the arrival of the railways. Southern Amateur Football League
The Southern Amateur League (SAL) is an association football league in England affiliated to the Amateur Football Alliance (AFA). It is based in and around Greater London and caters for 11–a–side men's adult teams. A feature of the league is 'multi-team football', common in AFA leagues, with clubs fielding an average of 3.5 teams each. For season 2023–24 the league has over 40 open aged member clubs and several veterans-only clubs running around 190 teams in 17 divisions. All clubs are strictly amateur. Club set-up, sportsmanship and hospitality As in other AFA leagues it is common for clubs to run several teams with some SAL clubs running up to 10 teams. National League System (football)
The National League System comprises the six levels of the English football league system immediately below the level of the English Football League. It comes under the jurisdiction of the Football Association. The National League System has a hierarchical format with promotion and relegation between leagues at different levels. Phase one went into operation in 2004–05. Southern Counties East Football League
The Southern Counties East Football League is an English association football, football league established in 1966, which has teams based in Kent and Southeast London. Its two divisions are allocated at Step 5 and Step 6 of the National League System (which equates to Levels 9–10 of the overall English football league system). At its inception it was known as the Kent Premier League, and until 2013 as the Kent League. There is no direct connection between this league and a previous Kent Football League (1894–1959), Kent League that existed from 1894 to 1959, despite many clubs having spells of membership in both leagues. Frank Emil Fehr , (1874-1948), was a British businessman and underwriter. As president of the London Oil and Tallow Trades Association and Assistant Director of Oil and Oilseeds Supply, Ministry of Food, he was awarded the Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1920. FA Trophy
The Football Association Challenge Trophy, also known as the Isuzu FA Trophy for sponsorship reasons, is a men's football knockout cup competition run by and named after The Football Association (the FA) and competed by mainly National League teams. The competition was introduced in 1969. Eligibility rules have changed over time, but from 2008 onwards the competition has been open to clubs playing in Steps 1–4 of the National League System, equivalent to tiers 5–8 of the overall English football league system. This covers the National League, the Southern League, Isthmian League, and Northern Premier League. The final of the competition was held at the original Wembley Stadium from the tournament's instigation until the stadium closed in 2000. Southern Football League
The Southern League is a football competition featuring semi-professional clubs from East Anglia, the South and Midlands of England, and South Wales. Together with the Isthmian League and the Northern Premier League it forms levels seven and eight of the English football league system. The structure of the Southern League has changed several times since its formation in 1894, and currently there are 87 clubs which are divided into four divisions. The Central and South Divisions are at step 3 of the National League System (NLS), and are feeder divisions, mainly to the National League South but also to the National League North.
