Kazakhstani Women's Football Championship
The Kazakhstani women's football championship is contested in the top level women's football league in Kazakhstan. Before 1991, some Kazakh women's clubs had competed in the Soviet Union women's league system, but after the collapse of the Soviet Union most women's teams left for Russia or simply dissolved. The number of teams varies from year to year. In 2008 there were 4 teams, 7 in 2009 and 5 in 2015. The league is played on several matchdays a summer. With now 5 teams, there will be 4 matchdays, actually about a week long, which features a full round robin (so 10 matches, two per day). FC Kaysar ( kk, Қайсар Футбол Клубы, ''Qaisar Futbol Kluby'') is a Kazakh professional football club based in the Gany Muratbayev Stadium in Kyzylorda. They are founding members of the Kazakhstan Premier League and have missed only three seasons following relegations. Their most successful was the season of 1998, where they won the Kazakhstan Cup and came fourth in the league. Also they won Kazakhstan Cup in 2019. CSHVSM-Kairat as used by UEFA or SShVSM-Kairat ( Russian: СШВСМ - Специализированная школа высшего спортивного мастерства, meaning roughly ''Specialized School of Highest Sport Mastership'') is a women's football club based in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The Kazakhstani Women's Cup ( kk, Әйелдер арасындағы Қазақстан Кубогы, ''Áıelder arasyndaǵy Qazaqstan Kýbogy''; Russian: Кубка Казахстана) is an annual women's football competition in Kazakhstan. Format In earlier seasons, unlike most cup competitions, the Kazakhstani Cup was a round-robin tournament and featured no knock-out system. The 2014 cup was played over one week in Shymkent. BIIK Shymkent ( kk, БИІК-Қазығұрт, BİIK-Qazyğūrt) is a women's football club based in Shymkent, Kazakhstan competing in the Kazakhstani Championship. Formerly established in Almaty as Alma-KTZh, the team won five championships in a row between 2004 and 2008 under this name and represented Kazakhstan in the European Cup, making it into the last 16 in four occasions. It was subsequently surpassed by SShVSM Almaty, but following its refoundation it won the 2010 national cup and the 2011 national championship.
