"Kathy's Song" is a song originally by Paul Simon from his 1965 debut album ''The Paul Simon Songbook''. It was re-recorded for Simon & Garfunkel's second album ''Sounds of Silence'', released in 1966. It has been described as one of Simon's most personal songs; it is dedicated to Kathy Chitty, Simon's girlfriend and muse during his mid-1960s sojourn in England. Eva Marie Cassidy (February 2, 1963 – November 2, 1996) was an American singer and musician known for her interpretations of jazz, Folk music, folk, and blues music, sung with a powerful, emotive soprano voice. The album is currently available on CD under Legacy's Playlist banner. Overview The album was a mix of original studio recordings and four previously unreleased live recordings. The album's minimalist packaging does not specifically date the latter; however, the live versions of "For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her" and "Kathy's Song" included on ''Greatest Hits'' were also included on the 2008 album ''Live 1969''.
