Katherine Lynch's Wonderwomen
Katherine Lynch (born 1967) is an Irish television personality from County Leitrim. She has had several television series broadcast on RTÉ Two, with titles like ''Working Girls'', ''Wonderwomen'' and ''Single Ladies''. Lynch also participated as a '' bainisteoir'' in the second series of the RTÉ One's '' Celebrity Bainisteoir''. She is said to have established a following among the Irish gay community. Career Lynch began her career as part of the Irish gay scene. This part of her career included winning Miss Alternative Ireland in 1998 as "Tampy Lillette" (a skit on Country & Western singer Tammy Wynette, with each costume trimmed with tampons. She went on to star as Busty Lycra in her regular Thursday night show in GUBU Bar in her show G Spot, with a variety of guest "artists". Mohill
Mohill (, meaning "Soft Ground") is a town in County Leitrim, Ireland. The town of Carrick-on-Shannon is approximately 16 km (10 miles) away. History The Justinian plague of Mohill devastated the local population in the 6th century. Mohill, or ''Maothail Manachain'', is named for St. Manachan, who founded the Monastery of Mohill-Manchan here AD. Some sources and folklore say the shrine of Manchan was kept at the Monastery of Mohill-Manchan, before being moved to Lemanaghan in county Offaly for some unrecorded reason. The Monastery was taken over by Augustinians in the 13th century and was later closed in the 16th century, after the time of King Henry VIII. The site of the church is now occupied by a Church of Ireland church and graveyard. Tubridy Tonight
''Tubridy Tonight'' is a talk show hosted by Ryan Tubridy that aired on RTÉ One for five seasons between 2004 and 2009. The programme featured guest interviews (usually three per show), audience participation and live music from both a guest music group and the house band. ''Tubridy Tonight'' aired every Saturday night, except during the summer months, directly after the main evening news. The show's house musical act was Clint Velour and the Camembert Quartet. ''Tubridy Tonight'' was the first successful Saturday night chat show to be broadcast by RTÉ since the ending of ''Kenny Live'' in 1999. The programme had regular viewing figures of 450,000, however, the show also regularly fell victim to so-called "Saturday Night Syndrome", with '' The Late Late Show'', broadcast on Friday nights, frequently featuring supposedly better guests.
