Karting World Championship
The FIA Karting World Championship, officially known as the Mondokart.com FIA Karting World Championship for sponsorship reasons, is a kart racing competition organised by the CIK-FIA. Hosted annually since 1964, it is widely regarded as the most prestigious karting competition in the world. Alongside the Karting European Championship, it is one of two major karting competitions sanctioned by the FIA. In recent years, the World Championship has been hosted as a single event, where the European Championship is contested across a season. The championship is notable for being the only FIA World Championship with a female champion: Italian driver Susanna Raganelli in 1966. Max Verstappen (2013, KZ) is the only past World Champion to progress to win the Formula One World Drivers' Championship. Kart racing or karting is a motorsport discipline using open-wheel, four-wheeled vehicles known as go-karts or shifter karts. They are usually raced on kart circuit, scaled-down circuits, although some professional kart races are also held on full-size motorsport circuits. Karting is commonly perceived as the stepping stone to the higher ranks of motorsports. Susanna Raganelli
Susanna "Susy" Raganelli (born 21 February 1946) is an Italian former racing driver and kart racer. Raganelli won the Karting World Championship in 1966 with Tecno, and remains the only female to have won a four-wheel World Championship. Early and personal life Raganelli was born on 21 February 1946 in Rome, Italy. Her father, Cesare Raganelli, was a local Alfa Romeo car dealer. From the 1970s until his death in 2021, Raganelli was married to fellow racing driver Giancarlo Naddeo, who won the Italian Formula Three Championship in 1971. She encouraged Naddeo to retire from single-seater racing after an accident saw him suffer a broken leg and fractured skull. Suzuka Circuit
The , the , is a long motorsport race track located in Ino, Suzuka, Mie, Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, Japan and operated by Honda Mobilityland, a subsidiary of Honda, Honda Motor Co, Ltd. KZ1 (karting)
KZ is a kart racing class for drivers aged 15 and over, sanctioned by the CIK-FIA. KZ is the primary gearbox class in FIA championships. The class was originally called Formula C (FC), first introduced in 1974 at the European Championship as the first gearbox class in international kart racing. FC was contested at the World Championship from 1983 until 2000. In 2002—after 28 seasons of racing—FC was replaced by Super-ICC (S-ICC) and downgraded to World Cup status. In 2007, Super-ICC was replaced by KZ1 and renamed to KZ in 2013, when it returned to the World Championship. Original Kart (OK) is a kart racing class for drivers aged 14 and over, sanctioned by the CIK-FIA. OK is the primary direct-drive class in FIA championships. The class was originally called Intercontinental A (ICA), first introduced in 1981 at the European Championship as a secondary direct-drive class to Formula K. The class was first contested at the World Cup in 2006. In 2007—after 26 seasons of racing—ICA was replaced by KF2 and became the primary class in 2010, replacing KF1 at the World Championship. OK-Junior is a kart racing class for top drivers aged 11 to 15 (drivers must reach the age of 12 within the first semester of calendar year). This class used to be called Junior Intercontinental A (JICA or ICA-J) and has changed since January 2007 when CIK- FIA decided to replace the 100 cc air-cooled two-stroke engines with 125 cc Touch-and-Go (TaG) water-cooled two-stroke engines (KF type).The engines produce .
